I love a good NAS that's low power and cost. 👍🏽

First one to mention "Plex" is a rotten egg.

D'oh! I just said it.

If you plan to use this as security camera NVR, don't. This one can not run QNAP's QVR Pro. While it can run the Surveillance Station, it is under powered and the license fee doesn't make sense. Get x53D instead.

I agree. If you only need to continuously record TWO cameras, these low-end models run efficiently with Surveillance Station (I did that for 3 years). Beyond that, a separate NVR is the better way to go.

Don't forget to check the cash back sites. One of them is offering 6% back for Newegg.

Would this be a good alternative to google photos? I wanna be able to sync photos from different devices from different family members and have a shared album with each other photos in it.

This deal has been off and on since November, IMO I wouldnt buy it for over $150 due to the weak CPU and limited DDR3 ram.

Your comments and criticisms are definitely valid. I disagree with your $150 price point. Can you provide a link to a comparable product that sells for $150?

Yes, but how many photos or videos do you need to back up and at what resolution? This may be overkill
