Free in-store pickup. Shipping makes the deal not as sweet, but if you are able to pick this up it's a great deal!

This would be an okay deal with the chainsaw alone, but coupled with the 5ah battery this is a smoking deal!
Competitor pricing is around 220

CCC on Amazon shows the lowest price for this set was 199.00 on Aug 31, 2018.

Ah yes, gotta love those time machine comments.
Best price from a retailer this saw has ever been was $100 via Home Depot this past holiday season and that was tool-only, no battery.

So that leaves you at $50 for a 5ah battery which is on the low side you'd pay for one in the grey market (eBay/Craigslist/FB Marketplace).

Great deal if you can get it for $150 picked up.

Your post says $149 at "Amazon". Please correct this. Thanks for posting.

I bought this a year ago and love it! Project Farm did a review on it and tested it against some other battery powered saws and a gas one and said for the money and quality, it did really well. I think he even compared it to the more expensive Makitä and said it faired well against it.

That was the flexvolt

I'm waiting for the Milwaukee to go on sale because I would like a smaller electric chainsaw instead of dragging out the large gas one that I have. Anyone have experience with this? I would need a charger but looks like an amazing deal.
Maybe look into an adapter to run this DeWalt with your Milwaukee batteries, if you buy this. Then put this new DeWalt battery for sale on CL or EB.

You'll need to confirm if Milwaukee batteries have internal voltage regulators and/or overheating circuitry ..... I forget if DeWalts do/don't. Then confirm the adapter has what you need.

This price isn't bad, not the least expensive it's been.

I've got this saw, no complaints here.

I've also got 4 other chain saws, electric to gas, and I'm still happy with this puppy ..... good for quick limb trimming.

There's an SD post here (was here, I used it) for a 14 inch bar and chain combo that'll fit this 12 incher.

Def a great deal. I really want a 5ah battery for my circular saw for the extra power and runtime. Would love to have the chainsaw too but I have a green works chainsaw so can't really justify it
We're in the same boat.

Good catch. Sorry about my error. Still, I love my DeWalt. I'll remove my comment to avoid confusion.

Got this saw November 3rd, last year when it was FP on here for the tool only from Home Depot at $99. Used it a handful of times. It does go through oil pretty quickly, which is almost a good thing because you want to drain the oil from it if you are not using it.

I used 2x 9Ah, 2x 6Ah and 1x 5Ah batteries with it. I started all batteries all charged up. As I used saw and drained the batteries, I put them in the charger starting with the largest capacity first and working my way down. By the time I got to the 5Ah battery, the 9Ah battery was fully charged and ready to go again. Finally felt like I had a good system in place and enough batteries that I would never have to wait on a battery to recharge.

I always consider the time machine comments more along the lines of:
"this deal isn't slick... There was a YMMV B&M deal 8 years ago that was $100 cheaper for the same item".
