HDMI 2.0 supports 1080p 144hz. It may also support VRR at that resolution/refresh rate. Hdmi 2.1 is a spec for 4k 120hz, since this is a 1080p monitor HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary

Great deal, thanks for posting! RTings gives this one a good score for gaming on a budget. The slightly higher end (newer?) model RX241Y appears to be on sale from Newegg for $179.99 but I like this deal better for my needs. May pick up the newer one later on when it goes on a lower sale to make a pair. The stands and front the monitors are nearly identical.

these 23.8 uses panda panel
there is another line of 24.5 monitors that uses auo panel, such as benq ex2510
I went for ex2510 as the reviews for auo panel seem better than the panda ones (many said panda panel is not eye friendly)

I own this monitor, it is my first 144hz and it's amazing. 2 hdmi and speakers. It has a tilt and easy push to adjust hight. I also like that acer has desktop app and lets you control the monitor if you are using it as a 2nd display
