Are these "backwards compatibile"?
Will these work interchangeably with my prior generation rubbermaid tubs?

I can't confirm this specific set, exactly, but I bought a teal set on a recent deal for about $6, I think (wasn't as fancy as these with the flexible sides and clear center, mine were solid plastic), but the new lids fits the old Rubbermaid containers I had - exactly. Just looking at the sizes from the pics, I'd be shocked if they didn't fit your old containers.

I have these, I actually loved them so much I bought a second set. Some people complain about the lids being hard to put on but they are flexible and I've never really had a problem. I marinate things all the time and they lock really well and don't spill at all.

Also storage is great as everything stacks and the lids lock together.

Yes. I have the red and blue and they are interchangeable BUT this is not a slick deal. I got both my sets for >$10.

Do your sets have the 7 cup containers? I've never seen the sets with the larger containers under ten bucks.
