Love this monitor and my only problem was the stand. The monitor sat WAY too low that I had to make a monitor shelf from ikea parts. Picked up an MSI vesa adapter and upgraded it to monitor arm and it definitely looks way better.
can someone help advise, how tall would this monitor be.. would it be the same height as a 32" 16:9 monitor? or would it be more closer to 27"
I have this and a 27" 1440p 1ms 165Hz IPS (Omen 27i). This is basically a widescreen version of a 27".
That being said, I paid $400 for the Omen and probably $350-370 for this.
For work and media, especially using the Ultrawidify extension for streaming, ultrawide is amazing. I also like the extra real estate for viewing multiple windows at once and miss it on the 27".
For gaming though, I don't like it. VA colors look bland/washed out and the 5-8ms response time produces noticeable ghosting in first person shooters. The Omen 1ms response time (more likely 2-3ms, as the fastest 1ms setting isn't really usable) feels crispy/instant and the colors are more saturated. The higher 165Hz is noticeable. Gsync compatibility on both is awesome stuff though, but more noticeable on the Omen.
To consolidate, I'll likely replace both with a 34" 1ms IPS 1440p 165Hz ultrawide when they get cheaper.

This $430 MSRP monitor isn't VESA mountable and forced you to pay $40 for an adapter when it comes with a garbage, barebones, short stand. Please be a self respecting person and don't even consider buying this junk. MSI should be embarrassed.
This is a VA panel but with 178 degree viewing angle. I thought the one huge advantage of IPS was the 178 viewing angle. So in that respect, how is VA inferior to IPS? Color gamut?
I will never buy anything from Newegg ever again. I don't trust them with any item over a dollar. They farked me so hard years ago with a shipment and the customer service was atrocious. Also, expensive as hell to get that VESA adapter.

Around 2014 or 2015 I was excited to do a huge computer upgrade. I had a decent tax return and purchased a lot of components. What appears to have happened is I had 2 boxes, that weren't labeled as 1 of 2 2 of 2. So I got one box. I had a CPU, SSD and some USB devices missing. I think that's what happened during packing, if not then that means they just forgot them. I got no help from them, google checkout, and I couldn't do a dispute with American Express. Really sucked.

IPS generally have better colors, but some VA are pretty good too. VA tends to suffer from ghosting, especially with darker colors, and this monitor is no exception with its 8ms response time.
I owned this for a couple days before returning, I'd pass on this one, high response time and very very dim.
