Zoeller Sump Pumps Clearance at Lowes YMMV

Came across Zoeller Cast Iron sump pumps while instore at Lowes, there were several models on sale. The sewage pumps were also on sale. Many wont show online, but here are a couple for reference. As always, YMMV. If you are in the market, these pumps look really well made.

After researching, this appears to be IN STORE ONLY, as online prices were not showing clearance for me. There were only a couple of models with clearanes rices adjusted on the rack location in store.

The 1/2HP was ~$55 at a couple of stores around me.

The 1/3 HP models are also on sale for $39...

Best sump pump you can buy, I have one and it runs every day, year round without issue for the last 11 years.

That's pretty impressive. Would like to upgrade to this brand. Do you happen to know the model number or anything you have installed?

Prod description states cord is 9ft long. Is that correct? If so then i doubt this sump pump will work for draining a swimming pool as the cord and extension cord would be submerged in water.

If you buy one in store they offer a 3yr extended warranty for $7 and change (when the pump is on clearance for ~$40). Seems worth it to get 3yrs manufacturer warranty plus an additional 3yr extended warranty.

Has anyone had experience with the Lowe's extended warranty provider?

Same experience but at year 10 the switch was getting too "sensitive" and you could not bend the float far enough up to make it not turn on 100 times an hour, so I replaced it. So much longer life than what my neighbors experienced with whatever Home Depot sells.

I kept it as a "just in case" backup Smilie

Store #3000 (az) had 4 in inventory priced $55.84. Now only one on upper shelf near plumbing BW aisle 9. Always look towards the heavenly stars when looking for these once in a while SD at lowes or HD... 9/10 they are lost in the upper racks. 2 cents is to have the product item # on hand and look for that # on the box facing the aisle.

What r the manufacturer dates on these pumps foe those that found one (or more)? Ihave 2x 5/19 and 1x 11/18. I suspect this is why they are being clearanced out.

I have something like this, but from harbor freight. I use it to empty my intex pool at the end of the season. Have it plumbed to a few lengths of 1-1/4 pvc pipe to come over the sidewall and back down to the yard. Empties it out in 2-3 hours (about 10000 gallons in the pool). For this price I would buy another.

You know, you can drain from the top portion of swimming pool water first, you do not have to put an extentiion cord in the pool water. Like, put the pump on a step, than move the pump down as needed maybe?and use a GFCI extention cord.

10k gal on your yard seems messy. City code requires to drain pools onto designated drain holes located front of house which is nearly 175ft away accounting for 2 left turns from back yard. Picked up 3 of these, 2 for sale so mine.will be free.

Yes of course but when the pool has a deep end ot will be tediois rounds of moving the pump. Fortunately it has a float switch unlike the HD rental wacker brand which keeps on running dry. What is odd the manual clearly states not use 1) for draining a pool 2) extension cord. Oh well for $56 ill see what happens next pool drain 2023. Already drained pool due to CYA and hardness high levels so not doing it again till then.

not really tedious work to move a pump 3-4 times total. Placing the pump is not rocket science. Use a GFCI extension cable and test the GFCI before each use.... and do not get into the water while using the pump. from experience, really not tedious.

Ok tedious was the wrong word to use. Needing to move a sump pump several times to drain a pool requires a visual check X number of times to.keep the job moving. Otherwise delays can accumulate. But like i said at least it has a float switch to shut off. Its similar to crok pot "cooking" in which the ideal recipe is gather all ingredients, load into pot, set the timer, walk away and return when it signals "done". Whats the point if you have to constantly return to crock pot and stir or add this then that (if the desire is convenience). Now getting in the pool water with a pump running is always risky. I bet that was a nice HELLO!
