Some electric utilities have rebates for energy efficient air cleaners. For example, Silicon Valley Power (Santa Clara, CA) has a $75 rebate on up to 3 units, and this Winix C545 model is on the Energy Star list [energystar.gov] with >150cfm so it qualifies for the full $75 rebate each: https://www.siliconvall
That's a net cost of just $25 per air purifier!
Filters are hard to get cheap, not a lot of 3rd party, though compatible with different version I think S, if this is S then maybe C , cant keep them straight
I hate that it has no remote, and you cant add a remote, only option is to use app
No auto off after specific time
Given COVID , I wish I had one with a UV light

Where in VA?
the description said "The Smart Sensor tells you the quality of air in your surroundings by detecting the amount of "odor" in the environment."
I spread some dust around the sensor but nothing happened, but it worked and the light turned red immediately when I spread CO2 or gas on it.
Does this mean the Winix c545 will not switch to higher mode it self when there's a lot of dust or pm2.5 in the air?
UPDATE:
Able to find out my answer today. The primary member already bought 2 of the Winix air purifiers and I was able to pick up 2 myself, as the secondary member, as well.

right now and when my Costco membership ends I will not renew!!!
If it can only detect odor, the mold spores are particle right?
what about the smoke from cigarettes or from wildfire? odor or particle? well the sensor detect it?
It would be not that useful as a air purifier if the auto mode not detect the particle or dust.

Read the manual -
Odor Sensor
Detects the amount of odorous gas in the environment.
When in Auto mode, the fan speed adjusts according to
the detected amount of gas.

It only detects voc, or gasses. It cannot detect physical items such as pollens or dust, because that requires a particulate sensor.
Basically it comes with a nose sensor that can smell, but not an eye sensor that can see dust.
