YMMV: TIP have everything set up in your cart. Sit on it for a few hours. Close the window for another hour or so. Eventually HP will take off another $60. Using id.me I got $55 off as well. 1% CB from your favorite CB site. It helps.

I got this one for a little under $1600:

I know it's more expensive, but it is 100% a Max P 3070 with 16 GB of 3200 RAM, and a 5800H... and it's not HP. Don't have many good experiences with HP.

Got mine with 16GB ram... An 8GB stick is around $40-50 so worth it IMO. The $144 New York City tax bites though... $1444 in total...

What's up with the March 26th bullshit though? Does anyone know?

It's a part of their business model. They have some of the lowest prices in the industry on factory pre-orders, but once you're in, you're in. Thankfully their quality has improved a lot and their devices are pretty reliable.

That's the kind of state that the default is everything you make is theirs and they decide what to let you keep. Where I live in Florida is 7.5% state and county combined and no income tax but it's Florida. 😅

Hmm debating if best to hold out for a ASUS Strix G17 3070/Ryzen 9 at $1800 or go with with a config here the 3070/Ryzen 7 at ~$1300.... the G17 3070 is not a max-q/low tdp, this one will likely be... anyone have a take on best price per performance here?

I don't think so. Someone in another thread said you have an hour after placing order to cancel. I'm in for one and willing to wait at this price for these specs and build.

Apparently not easy to cancel. Probably have to call and play a game with a CSR who makes a commission off selling you more stuff.
