Does it make sense to buy a 3 year with accidental damage for around $200? I read positive experiences on that.

Also probably upgrading to QHD is better if you plan to watch videos and study/read on this laptop?

Got HP Employee Purchase Program for $55 off and 4% cash back which was $51.

HP Omen 15
RTX 3070
16GB
1x 512GB SSD
FHD 144hz
RGB 4-zone Backlighting Keyboard (Dave2D says to get this or you'll regret lol)

It was $1458 (with CA tax) cut down to $1342!
Also the savings with the deal (or price error) in place. This was a steal!

Is QHD really worth an extra $160 and (I assume) worse battery life? I don't think it is. FHD seems like it'd be just fine.

Hmm I got the same but just the white backlight. Who is Dave2D and why am I going to regret it?

Though, he was talking about an older model which only had RED backlighting and the upgrade was $10 rather than $20 here

Oh ok thanks. Yeah for only $10 and with that one having a red backlight I'd definitely pay the $10. I probably should have paid the extra $20 on this one because why not but I don't think I'll actually regret that I didn't.

Built both the Ryzen 7/16gb ram, 3070 512gb ssd single slot and the one with 1tb and just trying to decide if the 1tb now is worth the extra $100

I don't think getting that extra 500GB is worth $90 more when there's been deals for a full 1TB for under $100. By the time you fill up the 512 and need to replace it (or add another since I think this has two m.2 slots) you can probably find an even better deal.

Good point, the fact that I can get this laptop Ryzen 7/16gb 1080p, 4 zone RGB, 512g SSD and the 3070 for $1275 after student discount + tax is pretty wild.

Do you think the 1440p screen is worth the upgrade?
