That configuration is a steal. When you get to the page you might look for a tab to pick the GPU. You won't find it. You have to change the CPU to change the GPU.
At that price this should be instant front page!
It will display:
The price of this product has changed from $1,439.99 to $1,384.99 since you added it to cart.

I know it's more expensive, but it is 100% a Max P 3070 with 16 GB of 3200 RAM, and a 5800H... and it's not HP. Don't have many good experiences with HP.

Do you think the 1440p screen is worth the upgrade?
So I'm not sure but it's possible the 3070 price was supposed to be the price of that middle option and something else was supposed to be the price you can get this for.

You should get QHD if you'll be using this as your normal laptop. Browsing internet, studying, doing work, etc. You can always game at 1080p and come back to QHD. The only downside is that you may see some degradation while not playing at native resolution.

I've read some discussion online as well.. Some people really did not like playing 1080p on 1440p because of this. They were able to notice the text being jagged, just slight abnormalities.
You should get FHD if you're just going to play games. Simple as that! You won't have to sacrifice graphical settings and you're playing on native resolution which will not face degradation. RTX 3000s series laptops aren't really cut out to play QHD at high refresh rate at this price point right now. You can feel happy about turning that RTX on high or ultra too.
Plus you can just get a monitor at 1440p later. The visual differences is very minimal at 15" between FHD and QHD. Like hinted earlier, it's really only apparent with text.

Also 30xx laptops aren't the performance improvement you'd expect. A higher TDP equivalent last gen model will still keep up with or beat it. Only a 10-15% improvement if comparing same wattage generational upgrade.
That said, it's still obviously a good deal although it does seem like the pricing on a lot of these "normal chassis" gaming laptops are dropping in general this year.

Before xmas, my brother asked me to find him a cheap, new laptop for his girlfriend.
I checked SD and found one being offered on HP.com, so I ordered it.
I mistakenly put my brother's old/previous shipping address in North Carolina.
My brother notified me of this a few hours after the order was placed.
I didn't think anything of it and reached out to HP... well, I tried to reach out to HP. Getting someone on the other end of the phone proved to be quite a challenge.
When I finally did get ahold of someone, I was told that I was unable to change the shipping address, I was unable to cancel the order, and I was unable to have the laptop held at a FedEx location.
I was a bit taken back. Surely they would make an exception for me... right? I mean, it's being shipped to incorrect address. What did they actually expect me to do?
Well, around and around we went, spending what equated to hours on their chat system, as well as on the phone over what probably spanned about 3 MONTHS.
The laptop took months to ship and came DIRECTLY from China Maybe this explains why I was unable to have the laptop re-routed to a FedEx location? But I don't know, even a package coming in from China should have been able to be held at a FedEx location ...right?.
I was finally able to get a refund, but the amount of stress has turned me off to HP.com for the rest of my days. I don't care how good the deal is. The fact that they have insane policies such as being unable to have a package rerouted to an actual FedEx location just doesn't make any sense.
And while I realize that this whole thing could have been avoided if I simply double-checked my brother's address before ordering the laptop, HP gave zero f**ks.
The package was unable to be delivered (due to no one living at his previous address) and was EVENTUALLY (after about 5 delivery attempts) sent to an HP warehouse in Texas.
I had to file a claim with my bank in order to make anything happen. Even after the package was in their Texas warehouse, they still refused to update me and let me know what would happen from there. This might be the #1 crappiest experience I've ever had with a big company like this.
Needless to say, when I finally got the refund, I sent my brother a link to a laptop for sale at the BestBuy near him and told him to go pick it up lol. That process took a few hours and that was that. So much wasted time.
MORAL OF THE STORY - Pray you don't have to make any changes to your order!! Don't make the same mistake I did.
Oh and they took my review down as well lol

And it's directly from China. No thanks. I'm trying to be a little more careful to keep our money in America.

So, be very careful when ordering from HP right now. I also submitted a review that was removed. I guess they don't like truth when you are reviewing their products.
