I'm sure anyone who is considering buying this has put some research into it but here's my experience so far:

I just bought this off the Dyson website about 2 weeks ago. I only have carpet on my stairs and 4 of my bedrooms. I was able to vacuum my stairs and all of the bedrooms on low setting (which seems sufficient enough) without having to recharge it. I did end up emptying the canister 3 times in the process. This was a bit of a shock to me but I just chalked it up to my previous Shark vacuum not being very good.

I haven't used the fluffy head yet because I have a robot vacuum for my hardwood areas. I have cleaned up spilled spices (the joys of toddlers) but was too lazy to put the fluffy roller on. The regular roller cleaned it up great.

Overall, I'm loving this vacuum. It's so easy to vacuum my stairs now because of how light it is. It can go much further under furniture than my old vacuum. I also vacuumed my van out and there was a ton of attachments to choose from. I did read that the charger is not smart so when I charge it I set a timer and remove it or unplug the charger when it's full. I'm not sure of how true this is but I don't want to chance ruining the battery. People have also complained about the canister being hard to empty which is not the case for me. Overall, at this price I would buy this vacuum.

Battery on high lasts 10-20 minutes. There's no back up battery, and it takes 3 hours to charge. This is better for an apartment with hardwood, not a large home with pets. It will take you 3 days to clean your house. The canister also fills up quickly. There's a lot of tradeoffs here for cordless.

I have a V8 absolute and I'm able to vacuum upstairs and downstairs on carpet / wood floor in a single family home no issues. Mine lasts 30-40 mins on low which is enough to get the job done. There is no real reason why you would need to have these things set to high all the time, it doesn't make the head spin any faster it just increases the suction. The low setting suction is more than enough for most use cases.

Attached is V7 to 11 vacuum power and time it will last from vacuum cleaner advisor YouTube video. If you get much less duration try reaching out to Dyson while under 6 months warranty and see if they will replace battery for you. I just got my V7 animal refrurb, battery died after 5 seconds on max and they say they would send me brand new battery, not refurbished ones once it is back in stock.

I have hardwood whole house and use v7 to spot clean. The rest are handled by roborock mop vacuum. I am actually contemplating returning V7 animal and getting V10 absolute(total $300 incl tax) vs keeping the V7 and just get an aftermarket fluffy head(total $210). But so far the lower price seems to win. 😂

One more thing reaching out to Dyson via phone has a long wait time but it's better than chat support who ask me to bring the unit to local repair center and tell me it's not returnable. They didn't know I bought it from Walmart. I did check Dyson on ebay it says no returnable, so better to get from returnable places like Walmart.

I bought this exact deal last time around (280) - battery on Max lasts about 8 minutes, medium and low are still plenty powerful and last longer. I flip to max when going over shaggier carpets and it does really well. Overall though, I was more satisfied by my old V6 which for the price (160 new) was a much better value to me with superior battery life.

Question for those who have earlier models - is the v10 a significant upgrade from the v6? Looking for a second unit, kicking myself for passing on a v10 refurb on eBay around the holidays for $220, not sure how big an upgrade we're talking from 6 to 10 (I've seen the marketing, I mean from a practical perspective). Right now, the v6 has enough battery power for the spot cleaning we dedicate it to, but use our corded Dyson for deeper cleaning.

I purchased a Tineco A11 Hero for $180.00 with soft and hard brush. The battery last about 20 minutes on full power, I only use this on full power and it is enough to do a few rooms in the house.

The V10 is better then the Tineco A11 (not by that much but better). I love my stick vacuum. My only concern with Dyson is there is no always on switch (which Tineco has) and I would hate pressing a button the entire time you are using it.

I typically clean 2k sq ft with no issues.... mix of carpet, hardwood and rugs... If i run out of juice, i just finish up the next day or something. No need to hit it all at once in my opinion Smilie

2 large sheddy dogs and 4 cats. Yes, i do need to empty the bin a few times per cleaning. Quick and easy IMO.

We have a v6 Absolute and the battery recently died. So we bought a V10 total clean. V10 is much quieter and powerful; has longer battery; has better build quality; has HEPA filter; way better mechanism to clean the dust canister (which is also twice bigger). It is a major upgrade.

However, wife found it is inconvenient to go downstairs to grab the V10 and back upstairs to clean. So we kept the V6 with a new aftermarket battery upstairs for quick clean. Actually V6 is good enough to clean hardwood floor and low pile rugs.

Everyone should check the attachments they receive with these v10 absolutes. I purchased this from Dyson about s month ago and it came with the regular motorhead attachment instead of the torque drive that the v10 absolute it's supposed to come with. Dyson rep advised that they were shipping the direct drive because their torque drive was out of stock. I was supposed to receive a replacement 2/15 but they were still out of stock and still haven't received a replacement.

Why are you continually vacuuming on high? I have a V8 and the low setting works great on everything

I know on previous deals couple of people have mentioned that they have received beat up devices. My refurb arrived practically new, not a single ding or scratch on it.

Bought this last time it was on sale. Solid vacuum. It basically replaced my broom and dust pan. Powerful suction on max mode but battery doesn't last too long. Maybe 10-15 mins with a roller. I use mine on carpet stairs and for quick spot cleans, sweeping. Still have a corded Dyson for full house cleans.
Word of warning, condition you get is a gamble. Mine looked used for sure but the rollers and everything inside looked new. These are refurbished but may not look brand new
