Regarding the display, Newegg does not have any details, apart from 200 nits 45% NTSC Panel. So, I did some some digging and foud out the details. The Panel is AU Optronics B156HAN02.1 which is a AHVA (Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle ) Panel, similar to IPS Technology and normally referred as IPS-Type. This is a 250 nits Panel with 45% NTSC

Panel Model Number: AU Optronics B156HAN02.1
Panel Type: AHVA
Coverage: 65% sRGB | 48% AdobeRGB | 48% DCI P3
Max brightness: 250 Nits
Contrast Ratio: 800:1
Color Temperature: 6485K
PWM Flickering: No
Response Time: 25 ms

Why isn't this deal getting more attention? The specs are pretty good for the price. What am I missing?

My comment applies to all manufacturers shipping 720p webcam in laptops when video conferencing is a significant part of the laptop usage these days.

It's almost like shipping a laptop with USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 a few years back.
In theory I agree. The reality is likely different. I suspect that the way hardware is designed, parts provisioned, and manufacturing aligned...that there's simply not enough lead time. If nothing else, no doubt there's a finite number of HD web cam sensors, and those are going elsewhere, at least for now.

Got similar spec model from Costco couple month back, biggest complain is the fan run out and and it runs very often, even just from browsing the web....since the vents are right below the screen it reflect all the noise back to the user's face, which is terrible. I would buy something else if you want a not noisy laptop.

I was wondering exact same thing. Seeing the specs and price, it's exactly what I've been looking for at the price point I've been wanting. But can't figure out if this is actually a good laptop or if it's shoddy, don't know why no ones talking about it (aside from the 720p webcam). There is no sale price listed, so maybe it's not technically a "deal" or whatever. Reading the reviews, seems main gripe is that the screen sucks pretty bad, even for regular pedestrian use and streaming. I just wish more people that know things would talk about this deal more so I can make a decision to buy or wait.

Aren't these last year models? Meaning they were designed pre covid?

Actually the screen on this is better than most in this price range. Many gaming laptop deals I've seen around this price only has srgb around 50%. Maybe people don't want to deal with newegg for returns.

720p webcam in 2020/21 sucks!
99% of video conferencing is barely 480p after all compression is done. A legitimate 720p clean image will never be retransmitted or utilized

It will only work with a USB Type-C hub with USB ports. This is just a data only port. Expand my original post to more details.

That's what I thought until I bought it. Unusable keyboard with small shallow keys without any space between them.

Thanks for the feedback! Are the keys that much different from a MacBook Air keyboard?Anything else you like/dislike about the unit? Ultimately deciding to return or keep?
