damn i wish this was the one with the wifi, would have bought it.
I own one plus the WiFi bridge.

Yes, the battery's can last a year on normal use, I recommend using lithium AA's to speed the lock motor up a bit.

You get a set of 5 physical keys, they are a high security design and cannot be duplicated normally. Also the unit has a microUSB port on the outside as well so you can power it on that way if your batteries die and don't have a key.
Why 'risk' living in a house with windows? Probably because the perceived benefit outweighs the remote risk. Just like I'm guessing your house remains far more likely to be broken into the old fashioned way before anyone hacks your smart lock.

Yes, you can. However, if anyone lives in SC and wants the bluetooth only one, I will sell for 100.

How long battery last ? My schlage smart lock battery last about a month. Kinda annoying we have to keep replacing 4x AA batteries.
I haven't replaced mine for about a year now and I have them at two places.

With WiFi, I know if someone unlocks the door in my absence or if I want, say, a neighbor to place delivery packages inside if I'm not home. So many use cases, the only concern would be security. Okay, that's a big concern so if possible use a separate SSID for the lock.

The review pics show regular knobs but the description says "For Lever-Handle Doors Only

In order to install and use Smart Lock correctly, a lever-handle door with a deadbolt is required."

Anyone know if u need lever

No, it won't. Bluetooth version can't use wifi with just a bridge. You have to have the wifi version to use with the bridge.

Really? My Schlage which is a 9volt last almost a year. Long enough that I don't remember when I last replaced the battery.

I had this and recently upgraded to newer model with built-in Wi-Fi (no extra bridge needed) & rechargeable battery pack and I can say it's much fast to unlock, much more reliable to operate from phone and best of all has google and alexa integration!

They are also currently running an offer with free extra battery!! This is a no brainer

Hmm.. is it worth almost double for rechargeable battery and google home integration? I'm thinking so....

I debated about this myself.
Gen 1: Look the same as gen 2, 4 AA battery last up to 1 year (almost as long as chargeable).

Gen 2: No more wifi bridge, quicker unlocking speed and more responsive finger print reader.

In the end I figured just go for Gen 2 (but it won't ship until 3/22). Had I know this $127 sale (it was $169.99 just yesterday), it would be harder but I'll still want to get latest and greatest since I don't plan to change this lock often.

I find things like this odd.

I love tech, so I want to want it.

Love the idea of seeing technology on my door, but is using a key really a hassle to anyone?

It is when you have kids and groceries.. saving a few seconds to open and close the door would be worth it.

I can't figure out if I want the newer one with wifi and rechargeable battery for $250 or older one for half of that... I ordered both and will sleep on it and cancel one tomorrow.

Does anyone know if the key that comes with the lock can be used for other doors as well? IE: Can I get the garage door rekeyed to use the key that comes with the Eufy lock?
