So far I was thinking shipped items are no more sender's property as soon as it is in possession of carrier.
Depends on the contract, but for retail goods like this, it's generally shipper's responsibility until you take delivery.

It seems that packages are moving up to destination facility before routing back to the sender. the only thing incomprehensible is why charge credit cards when the orders has been recalled.

Wow. So you're thinking that a package will make it all the way to the local facility, multiple states away, before being turned back. ALL HOPE IS LOST!!! Sadness.

I see where you're coming from but the trade in reduces the taxable amount and they're also offering 550 compared to your market price of 350$ for the used phone. Also factor in the convenience and how the phone will hold it's trade in value a few years out.
I always look at it as out of pocket cost to purchase phone. In my case, here in NY with 8.75 percent sales tax:
Final Invoice after 1 5 percent code, $100 off code, T-mobile N20U with trade in of S10e came to $286. But I purchased a used S10e on Amazon for $315.
So my out of pocket cost came to $601.

Now..
My current phone, a One Plus 8t( Free after bill credits with Tmob) will probably fetch $425 on Swappa..sooo.
Essentially Id be upgrading from a oneplus 8t to a N20U for only $176.

Of course none of this matters since it's still stuck in processing, and I'll be stuck with a s10e that I don't need.😂

Tracking shows "incorrect address"
Fedex wont allow me to pickup from local office (few blocks away) because seller requested it to be sent back.
Oh well, I tried, it didn't work, moving on

Yes. That's what happened to me and I see to many others based on the comments. Hopes if package is moving to your address seems misplaced. It looks by this time, most of the packages are going back, irrespective of what you see at FedEx, Samsung or your bank website. Someone getting their order will be very lucky. Wish everyone good luck.

Samsung will apply to all so not that matters, but for clarity did you order N20U or S21U?

I ordered what op posted, no 5% off. Pending charges went away today. I guess it is indiscriminate cancellation..

Just got my package delivered!!!! I must have gotten really lucky. I got an email from Samsung yesterday saying my order was cancelled, but according to FedEx my package was at the delivery facility. They must not have put in a callback order in time. I ordered a Note 20 Ultra, Buds Live, and a wallet case for the Note 20 and traded in my Note 10 plus. My total was just over $200 for everything. Now I wonder what is going to happen since they cancelled my order????
Update - opened the box and it's just the phone - no buds or case...Guess I'm not getting those LMAOLMAOLMAO

This may help some of you. I got the refused by receipt error yesterday even though the package was never attempted to be delivered.

I have a buddy that works at FedEx and I spoke to him. All these samsung packages are sent FedEx express. Express packages usually arrive back at the hub 30 min to 1 hour before closing time. So my local hub closed at 530 yesterday. I walked in at 445 and told them I had an express package I missed as I wasn't home.

Sure enough the lady said "let me see if that route is back yet" went to the back got my s21 ultra and irs now ub my hands.

Again guys the key is to let them know you have an express package which customer service said would be available for pickup once the truck is back after the last hour. From my understanding if you try to do this with a regular package that will blow you off as those are on route until 7pm ish.

Hope this helps many if you.
