That's true, you are locked into Tmobile for 24 months. Its a fancy contract per say, but on my end their service is okay, so I don't mind 24 months
I don't mind tmobile service as I am their customer for about 10 years now but those monthly credit isn't always right and it would force me to keep eye on the bill to make sure I get the credits etc. I would very much prefer Costco type of deal where we can get the entire credit up front.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet...

But we're talking about T-Mobile here...Their coverage absolutely sucks!

It's like the old math problem - 1 x 0 = 0 and 1,000,000,000,000 x 0 = 0

At the end of the day, it's still T-Mobile and whether it's 1x0 or a billion x 0, it's still 0 at the end of the day!

Existing Sprint customer sends (which is even worse!)
You are welcome to leave and choose att or maybe Verizon for their perfect signal. I stay with tmobile for their low cost and bill that doesnt Change (unless it's this type of month credit deal)

I see that T-Mobile has a deal for $300 in monthly credits over 24 months for the iPhone 11 Pro. Do these deals stack? Or is it one or the other?
PS- I don't want the iPhone 12 as I have a pacemaker.
Also, I don't mind the 24 month commitment since I plan on switching and staying with T-Mobile.

I just saw a T-Mobile commercial on TV that said T-mobile was giving customers a free iPhone 12.

I didn't pay attention to the details because I've already got one, my guess is that deal is for new customers.

how? buy 2 phones add a line and wait for the rebate...
You don't understand T-Mobile. I've tried 2x to do their "add a line, monthly credits, trade in deal. It is NEVER straightforward. Both times I have lost 20 hrs each on the phone with the idiots because the promised credits never come. Once they waited until the return policy was over and then denied the trade in for a stupid reason (it was locked - yeah it was locked, to T-Mobile!!!!!)

One time I gave up. The other time, each rep I spoke to (about 10 in all) promised to make it right and never did. Credit would never show up. Until an 11th rep finally took pity on me after seeing my record of calls and gave me the 24 monthly credits in a lump sum.

Never again. And yet every year, I'm tempted. Maybe this time will be different...

Does this work if I transfer a line from another tmobile acct that is not mine?
No. My friend tried this and the aholes would not let him. Never told him they would never allow it (at the T-Mobile store) but then he never received the monthly credits. Sketchy as balls.

To me, adding a stinking line means adding a line to MY account. Not adding a line to the T-Mobile universe of lines. I get the business reason why they won't do it obviously but they should tell you in clear print upfront.

Some companies err on the side of customer service and will go the extra mile to make you happy. T-Mobile is NOT one of them. They will nickel and dime you and make errors not in your favor. And will never fix it for you hoping it is frustrating enough that you will swallow the loss. I'm a cheap bstrd but when it comes to this type of headache from them, I'll pay the full price at the Apple store. UNLOCKED.

I agree, but their customer service has improved vastly over the years. I've noted their names and have verified multiple times to make sure I was enrolled in the promos. Also, T-Force always seem to come to the rescue.

And I followed all My requirements and wasted hours of my life getting them to fix their system and give me the monthly credits. Every single call, they started from scratch to verify that I qualified and checked every box. And every time, they said I fulfilled it and will fix it on the next monthly statement. And lo and behold, next monthly statement and nothing.

Congratulations that you never had to deal with it. I have zero reason to smack talk T-Mobile unless they suck eggs. Only reason I stick with them is cause their prices with the One and military discount are so damned cheap. Otherwise would've jumped ship 15 years ago.

This may shock you, but we all live in different areas and in some area T-Mobile has by far the best coverage. Who would have thought.
Their service has gotten better since acquiring Sprint.

But not long ago (2018), there were many times when I was smack in the middle of my office in midtown Manhattan and get 0 bars! Had to walk to the other side of the building to get 1 or 2. Also in Chicago Mag Mile. If there service is so trashy there, imagine what it is when you really need it in the Mojave. If you complain enough, they will give you a band aid solution of a cell repeater connected to your Wi-Fi.

How did you reset your phone? Can you tell me a little bit?
They don't care about carrier lock! I have done trade in 6 times and it all went smooth

I'm in Utah and have T-Mobile for personal and Verizon for work. Both work well. You'll have bad spots with any provider and have spotty service in places with any carrier. I find it hilarious how people damn an entire company because the service isn't great where they are. If T-mobile doesn't work where you're at go with a different provider. It's that simple.
