I just have buy one get another for $1.
This is supposedly a "Crispy Chicken Fillet", per McDonald's website.
Seeing all these chicken sandwiches, makes me think everybody is gunning for Chick-Fil-A.
Popeyes has one, KFC has one, now McDonald's has one. All with pickles.
They're just ok, obviously McD's are trying to get a piece of the Chick-Fil-A & Popeye's market. They're a similar size piece of chicken on a pretzel bun, but I found them dry and didn't think they were as good as either of the others.

Everyone is gunning for Popeye's new chicken sandwhich. Chick-Fil-A has had their chicken forever, but Popeye's is the one that started the craze.
1. Chick fil'a
2. Popeyes
3. McDonalds
4. Others

Today Only.
I also have a separate offer for free medium fries and free medium drink if you purchase a Crispy Chicken sandwich. This one is probably not nationwide, but it doesn't hurt to check the app.

Review:
I got the spicy which added an orange colored hot sauce that seemed mayo based. Not super hot but spicier than I expected. The chicken was smaller than the current crop of chicken sandwiches and less crispy. I did not detect any kind of flavor to it, maybe it was overwhelmed with the sauce. Decently moist and fresh seeming.
Overall, OK, I would take this sandwich free but in order of preference:
1. Popeyes is bigger, crispier and and has more flavor.
2. KFC: bigger, nice flavoring in the coating, I liked this one.
3. Chick-Fil'a: nice, bland, smaller than Popeye's/KFC. The chicken itself is tasty.
4. (most of the other premium chicken sandwiches)
5. this version of McD
6. the chicken burger sandwiches including the old McD sandwich
Got the McD's one, spicy was good, but not great. Better than the McChicken, but not sure I'd get it again. I don't go to McDs for good food. In a heart beat I'd choose ChickFilA every time. I'll just get burgers from McDs if I go here. Maybe the nuggets and fries if I'm sharing with someone else.
That's pretty good deal, considering nuggets are $5, and 2 Large fries are close to $3 each.

McDonald's needs to cook theirs using the same deep fat fryers with the same oil as the chicken nuggets, so even if they take a high quality piece of chicken with good breading, it still isn't going to come out of that as tasty. They could retrofit their kitchens, but most just don't have the space without sacrificing something else.
I guess my point is: Trying to compete in the "premium chicken" bracket is a losing proposition because McDonald's kitchens will never have dedicated pressure fryers with peanut oil.
