I've long since heard of HOKA as well and just bought my first two pairs. Indeed this sort of thing works and who knows, maybe they'll make a lifetime customer out of me.. and that's why they're doing this!

Hopefully earlier orders without this date will go through. I've never tried HOKA before, but my girlfriend buys them all the time. I'll try them at $39 to see if I like them, but not $139.
Edit: And like that, the date on my first order changed, too. Looks like we're in for mass cancellations.
