How does the continuous video recording work? Is it only recording to the onboard storage or does it go out to the cloud? I am wondering if it would impact my Comcast data use limit.

Yeah, I've seen a couple reddit posts saying the battery powered ones can be hardwired to work with the existing chime. But that one is 30 bucks more and I don't really want to mess with all that.
They are hardwired to the existing wires, but it doesn't actually power the chime itself. edit: nevermind, saw you were talking about the battery powered ones. not sure how those would power an existing chime though.

Can it record 24/7 to a NAS?

I'm assuming it never uploads anything right? Notifications and video lookup would be direct connect to the device ?

I bought the battery powered model that recently hit front page. It does ring the chime if you have it hardwired.

But it looks like there is a setting to turn that function off. I haven't tested it off.

Great deal, been waiting for this to go on sale so I can dump ring and subscription fees. It would be even better if it supported rtsp like the indoor cams but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

I just got the nonBestBuy version for $120. Is it worth returning that for this version?

This is the best buy exclusive with the updated chime and 32GB of storage. I got this for $140 and it is well worth it!
How do you like it?..I have the regular wired 2k version and thinking of upgrading to this version.

The major turn off for me is there's no integration with HomeBase. It doesn't make sense that their battery version has HomeBase integration but the wired version doesn't. The minor turn off is you can't use existing chime.

I currently have no security cameras at my house but am looking to get a doorbell system like this along with other cameras on the exterior of my home. Not sure how this all works but would this doorbell/home base be able to "talk to" other eufy devices like the one link here https://links.da.slickdeals.net/z/mggkst3cq?uid=0f215fc9-d27c-4eca-ac6e-eb37452b4e59&txnid=53ee3641-f23a-4c21-8f94-83311ef32000&mid=86107d90-1fbe-4ae8-ab56-6e953da2f33a&utm_campaign=92316977&utm_content=2458972&utm_term=14852257&bsft_mime_type=html&bsft_tv=8&bsft_lx=2&bsft_ek=2021-02-23T05%3A11%3A13Z

Or are these entirely separate since there are two home bases? Is there a way to use one home base with 3-4 eufy cameras? Was looking to get an outdoor floodlight camera too.

Agreed. I have the old 2K hardwired doorbell (with 4GB storage), which also does not have HomeBase integration. I'm going to wait for the next version of the doorbell that does support the HomeBase and has higher resolution or more features. The current 2K wireless doorbell and this 32GB hardwired doorbell with CVR isn't big enough of an upgrade for me personally.

You can manage the hardwired doorbell cam and the eufycams in the same app, but they don't talk to each other. Any Eufy cams that support the HomeBase can use the same HomeBase (one HomeBase can support up to 16 cameras). However, the hardwired doorbells are standalone and don't use a HomeBase. Weirdly enough, their battery powered doorbells that can optionally be hardwired does use the HomeBase.
