The wife and I did the Star Wars puzzle over the course of a week. It was very challenging, but we had a great time doing it. I'll bet we sunk more than 20 man-hours into it together. It's a beautiful puzzle, the first that we've ever wanted to mount to display (basement/man cave). I believe i paid $12 or so for it on a previous deal. Well worth it!
Not nearly enough variation in the pieces so you're stuck with a few hundred "black with some stars" or "probably millennium falcon" pieces after a while.
Quality's fine, but the art makes for a (not super fun) challenge!

Bought all 3. My 3 munchkins love completing jigsaw puzzles together. Dining table becomes off limits for anything but puzzle solving for days! Thanks OP.

Throw a bunch of things from star wars together and call it art? Looks like a big mess to me.

This was our problem. We didn't end up finishing it.
I just put this puzzle together a week or so ago. It is tough, but looks great when it's done. I ended up framing it, and it makes a great wall ornament. This is a steal if you're into puzzles at all

I'm not critiquing the composition, just the fact that IMO it doesn't make for a fulfilling puzzle experience. lack of landmarks and variation makes hunting for pieces a slog. We've done a fair number of puzzles in the past year or so and this one so far is probably my least favorite.

I've just bought frames from Ross/at home/bulk stores like that since frames are so damn expensive. It's not the exact same size as puzzle but I just center it in the middle. I think I used 20x27 for these, and the frames were only $15 each or so, which is a steal. Once we have a house I might switch out for all matching frames and have them together in one room.

How does a standard frame keep the puzzle in place? Do you somehow stick the puzzle together and stick it to part of the frame somehow? (Thank you for replying!)

So for our very first one we actually glued the puzzle after centering it because I was worried it would fall. With the others we realized that the puzzle is thick enough that the glass or plastic pushes on the puzzle with enough force to hold it in place. This might not be true for all frames, but it's worked so far.
Perfectly centering it and glueing it is tough. I just told myself if the ones I didn't glue fell, I would just fix them with glue later.
Bought the star wars one before. Pretty good quality, just like others said once you put the main pieces in the BG was pretty boring to do. Put mod podge on front and back, bought some black poster board (cut to the size of standard frame) for the background and then laid the puzzle on there while the front was dry and back was still wet so it'd stick, then threw everything in the frame, and voila! Has been on the wall by our bar for at least a year now.

+1 for modge podge, stuff is awesome and cheap and lasts forever.
What size frames do you use, did you find deals anywhere?

For us doing puzzles is so therapeutic. It's insane how relaxing it is to just do a puzzle and listen to a podcast for hours. Highly recommended!

I would love to hear how others have done it!
