The plan is a tablet/hotspot plan called "Best-Value Plan" 20GB of 5G high-speed data $25/mo. (When you pay $300 in advance for 12 months of service)

As far as I know, this plan has to be sold in an AT&T store and only some of the stores know how to run the promotion at this point. The promotion just came out a few days ago. I went to three AT&T stores before I found one that knew how to sell the plan, so call ahead.

Im using a Netgear MR1100 that I bought from Amazon. They will let you buy a device from them or BYOD.

You might want to check out this other slickdeal. If you can use that hotspot after the 1 month runs out you would not have to pay anything for hardware.

I'm guessing there's no way to do this online - and skip the store?

Is this a SIM you can put in a phone too? Because then you can pair this with a Google Voice number and we're golden right? 20GB 5G for $25/mo sounds pretty good.

I was able to do it online. Had a new prepaid SIM. If you click on the link, there is a section that says Have Your Own Device. In there is a link that says Activate it online. Just make sure to use an IMEI number of a data device otherwise the plan won't show up. I am using this with a Netgear LM1200 for backup home internet.

Does the sim have to be in a mobile hot spot type device? Can you put it into a laptop or tablet?
