If the prices are the same across the board, I'd go with 10th gen for the newer chipset (e.g. USB 3.2 support and faster memory support).

cause it looks like the 5600x beats the 10 series intel in gaming on most benchamarks, so i doubt the 9900k is better in most if any.

regardless, cant beat this price to performance ratio on this mc deal, but the 5600x is still better at gaming overall.

It' too bad most z390 boards have been EOL according to major manufacturers. Most MB still available at retail channels will not be restocked once sold out.
Factoring in the current z490 and z590 board prices and the state of upcoming rocket lake gaming performance, this 9900k on the z390 platform is definitely my preferred intel based gaming platform :-)
