I used to have this saddle. Used it with a steel road bike and it seemed perfect, but my butt didn't like it. Well made, heavy, but that is part of the style. These are good if you seat often gets wet or exposed to the elements or are vegan. The cotton texture on this is very grippy and added to my personal discomfort, but some people are looking for that. Personally, I would get the leather one and put a bag over it if it was outside for a bit.
P.S., these don't really conform to the rider like leather saddles. They do, but only after a really long time and not to the same extent.
Yes, depending on model and condition I'd say you could get anywhere from $20 to $100 for it - butt since they become form fit to the rider, I would personally be hesitant to buy someone else's old saddle.

I have the carved version (with gap in center of saddle) and ride 100 miles/week during these covid times, and have never felt any saddle pain or discomfort. Very happy with mine!

Is there a resale market for old Brooks leather saddles in decent condition, the more traditional kind with a smooth finish, say nearly 40 years old? I have one from an old Trek I no longer own and it's just sitting around. I made sure to use Brooks saddle soap on it during the years that I rode on it.

Thanks. Just curious. I might someday build a retro steel bike using it. I still have most of the parts from my old Trek, except the frame, fork, handlebar & wheels.

Brooks is a well-known bike saddle brand. This one retails for $120 and is 28% off. Sites and cards offer cashback on Backcountry - popular ones offer at least 4% cash back, and I have seen as high as 10%. Backcountry also offers 15% discount for new users, but don't think you can apply that to an item on sale.
Good deal on a good saddle. I use the Brooks leather on my gravel bike, as it does seem more comfortable than other saddles. I do not use it on my road bike though, as I find it a bit too big and heavy. I've used a variety of saddle types and Brooks is my second favorite saddle. I like Selle's strange design slightly better, but I think most people would disagree with this. The all weather would be nice, but I hear may not be quite as comfortable as the leather.

I recently upgraded to a road bike (from a hybrid) and randomly injured my groin/hip area after a 15 mile ride while wearing padded shorts.
Would a better saddle help prevent this?
Never had an injury like this before so I'm thinking the stock saddle might be at fault
