Came across this on Costco (valid 3/10-4/4) while researching video doorbells. The $50 savings could be due to the new pro 2 coming out at the end of the month, but it seems to be a decent model for basic needs. This one at Costco has a little bit higher field of view (160 vs. 155 degrees) and can also swap out the battery without having to take the doorbell off the wall as compared to the Ring Video Doorbell - 2020 Release (comparison is on the Costco site). This may not be for everyone, but the savings seemed solid.

I agree. I've had 2 for about 1.5yrs. Hours spent dealing with tech support etc and no change. Works great when it works but often, I get a recording of the UPS driver stepping back into his truck, 30ft away. Hardly ever have the ability to talk to someone when they ring the doorbell. Using Orbi wireless that works at my neighbors with no issues and have used a signal meter to confirm strong wireless at location on both units.
Use a ring alarm, works fine. Doorbell, tossing them and using something else. Even a Wyze cam works great and instantly turns on when I want to see live footage in the exact same location.

Ring Video Doorbell 2 vs Ring Video Doorbell 3
As similar as these video doorbells are, there are some differences. The Ring Video Doorbell 2 connected via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, but the Ring Video Doorbell 3 is dual band, meaning it can also connect on the faster 5 GHz frequency. While 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi has a longer range, it is slower than 5 GHz Wi-Fi, so this new connectivity option will be handy, provided your Wi-Fi router is fairly close to your front door.
Ring has also added advanced motion detection in the Video Doorbell 3, which means you can adjust motion zones in the app. This should be a big help if you typically get a lot of false positives when people walk past your property or there's other movement on the street outside. To go one step further for those concerned about privacy, Ring has also introduced Privacy Zones, which can exclude some sections of the camera's view from being recorded at all. This may prove useful if your Ring Video Doorbell overlooks a neighboring property, for example.
