Can someone weigh in on this?

If I sign up for the 80k promo for the preferred and let say a year or so later, I sign up for the reserve, would all my points be redeemable for 50% more redemption value? Preferred is currently at 25% more redmeptokn value versus reserve's 50%.
Sapphire cards have a family rule -- only one Sapphire bonus every 48mo

You can get CSP now but won't be able to apply for any new Sapphire card for 48mo. Your only option to get CSR would be to upgrade CSP or any Freedom card to it as long as that card is 1yr old (federal law that they can't increase your annual fee during 1st yr) -- you also need min $10k limit to convert to CSR

You can move points around between any Freedom/Sapphire/Ink cards -- you can keep collecting points until you're ready to redeem them (you can move them to CSR in future for redemption)

4 years between new signups for any Sapphire card. But you could upgrade to the Reserve (with no extra bonus) after 1 year, and any points in your account would be redeemable at the 1.5cpp (1.5x) rate.

NO and YES. It is doable, but it take some effort. First, you can't have 2 Sapphire cards at the same time and you can't get another Sapphire signing bonus within 48 month, CSP or CSR. You can transfer/combine the UR to the card you currently have. Say, you can get this CSP now, get the 80k bonus UR, transfer to other UR card you have, then downgrade/cancel this CSP, apply/get CSR, transfer all the UR to CSR. Yes, it is possible, all the UR in CSR gets 50% more in travel redemption. I have done it before. If you are into UR/miles, you should look into transfer the UR point to airlines, it is much more valuable. For example, 95000 UR points to Virgin Atlantic can get you roundtrip business class flight on ANA, LA to Tokyo. That fight normally cost several thousands dollars, but only 95000 UR.

You wont get another bonus points but you can upgrade the preferred to reserve and then ur points will be 1.5. i did this last time round, first downgraded reserve to freedom and a year later went back to reserve.. was able to redeem existing points @1.5 rate.

the problem is you have to have a ton of points to make the 550 af worth the extra 25% redemption value

It's not really 550 right? With 300 credit, it's 250 remaining minus 60 of door dash... The additional 190 is covered just by the bonus points themselves plus whatever points we earn at spend.

Best part was, I paid one years fee but somehow was able to redeem two travel credits. I was like thank you chase, I'll take it.

Is there a way to find out when was last time we got points bonus. Would it be 48 months plus another 4 months from date of application last time around? That's how much it would have taken to 'earn' the points but just want to confirm.

it is $550, they are pretty upfront about the af. The doordash credit is garbage because of the doordash markup. and they cracked down on GCs for the travel credit

I assume this 48 month rule is in addition to the 5/24 for approval? Wondering if the reserve is gonna have an increase soon.

Yes, you're correct. 48 month rule is addition to the 5/24 rule. Reserve did also get a bump. It went from 50k points to 60k points.

Wut. You cant have 2 sapphire cards at the same time.
you cant have the preferred and the reserve at the same time? you should be able to get at least 2 by applying for 1 with your ssn and another with your EIN.

You have to wait 30 days from downgrade/product change to apply.
when does that 30 day begin? the day you initiated product change or the day you receive the card? or something else?

i wonder if applying in-branch will bypass this 30 day window? any DPs on this?
