If I sign up for the 80k promo for the preferred and let say a year or so later, I sign up for the reserve, would all my points be redeemable for 50% more redemption value? Preferred is currently at 25% more redmeptokn value versus reserve's 50%.
Less than 1 minute while logged into account.
He called twice; both times was told if the promo went the other way, would we be calling to delete 20,000 points?
Yikes.
Good luck to those that can get the 20,000 added.
Any advice?

What did you try to do? Add 20k points after you had signed up already before the promo was active? No offense, but that is stupidity if you thought they were going to do that. You always have to sign up through the link or in branch after the offer is active. It has to be a new account. If you sign up 1 day before promo, thats tough luck, they arnt going accommodate that. It has to go through the computer system with the specific promo code or they arnt going to honor it.
On top of that, even if you were to sign up for the CSP during the 80K promo offer but used a 60K promo link instead expecting it to update to 80K points, that would also NOT qualify for the 80K points. They would definitely not accommodate that either! Thats just how it works. Dont even bother asking.

If I cancel my card after I receive my bonus, will I get a partial/prorated refund on the annual fee?

Also, im not sure exactly how it works with credit cards, but closing checking/savings accounts down right after receiving bonuses usually means you lose the bonuses. They will literally deduct the bonus from your account if closed early. They usually state this in the terms when you sign up. All banks are different but they usually require 6 months before allowing accounts to be closed to keep the bonus, so be careful. I dont know if credit cards do this though. I would wait a year imo before closing the cc. Close it right before the next AF due.

Same answer. No of course not....Think of how stupid that would be if they just allowed people to upgrade cards all the time chasing promos."Hello Chase, Yes, I want to upgrade my current freedom card to Sapphire Premiere so I can get $1050!" lol. No. It always has to be a new account sign up, with the promo attached via link and while the promo is active.
