Not true. My AF was not waived in branch upon asking. This could be account or branch specific. Maybe if you are a big spender and carry a balance they waive it? Our household never has luck with retention credits or waived fees, but we pay our balances in full each month. Maybe that makes a difference?
I don't know what else to say. It worked for you, it didn't for me. It's not like I could tell the Chase banker "Slickdeals told me the AF should be waived" after he said no. I'll happily take the 80k points alone to transfer to partner's Reserve and $50 grocery credit. Waived $95 fee would have been nice, but no dice for me.

Honestly slick deals is more informed than anyone I've spoken to at Chase. My banker didn't even know about this offer until I asked them to specifically check for it. I had to call into chase as well and they were absolutely insistent the annual fee is never waived, they put me on hold and then came back to me saying oh yeah it's waived lol.
The fee will charge in April. For anyone curious, I also had reached out to Chase via secure message after the fact. They confirmed the fee. If it doesn't post, I'll welcome it as a nice surprise. Good luck to all.
