Super pissed off with my timing. Applied on 20th March. The card hasn't arrived yet. Reading the comments I realize that I cannot call the customer service and ask for additional 20k points.
same situation as you sigh... 60k pts is still good but 80k would've been better. I think they know we are ready to travel again in a few months. If only I had waited alittle while longer Smilie

I had the same situation. Then I called to find out more and they told me I had another credit card with them that had a pretty high credit limit, and since it wasn't being used they wanted to lower that limit and move some over to the sapphire. I said ok and it was approved over the phone
I have 2 chase cards with a total credit of around 32K. What number did you call?

So basically what you are saying is that you lowered your credit limit on your card then they approved you for the sapphire and moved some of the limit to that card? I'd be fine with that.

you can always call to lower your CC limit of your existing cards in advance to increase your chance of instant approval of new card.

Any other good cards to pair with this one for a single credit pull?

Chase Sapphire Reserve. It's possible to be approved for both on the same day.
Chase has cracked down on multiple same-day applications. Even if the Reserve were approved, Chase would automatically shut down the card before you get to use it - and still have it report as a closed account and hit your 5/24 count for the next 2 years.

No, MDD is alive and well. Did it a month ago. There are no DPs of issues with MDD from other churners as well.

I know full well about the MDD. Applying for 2 cards on the same day is not the MDD. The risks of the traditional DD with chase - what you advised in your comment - are very well known.

Yes, my mistake. Don't know why I said same day.

Does using the Chase referral invite for a friend to sign up qualify for him to get the 80k pts and me 15k referral bonus?
I generated the referral link but it's take him to the 60k pts regular bonus promo, not 80k

This doesn't make sense. Did you call them for reconsideration?

770 credit score. Only maybe 1-2 cards in the last 24months.

Has Sapphire 5 years ago. No instant approval for me, strange.

"Thank you for your request.

We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card."
Will be approved because it has to go for manual approval. Chase gets flooded whenever they give big sign on bonuses. No big deal. Sit tight.

I went to the branch to apply today and the rep told me the Chase Sapphire Preferred was not an available card for me to apply for. He showed me the screen and no Sapphire cards were listed. I closed my Reserve card in January/February of this year when no retention offer was offered To me. Received my $100k bonus on that card in February of 2017.

The rep said it was not available to me because I had a Reserve card within 48 months. I told him that wasn't my understanding of the terms but I couldn't really argue with him. Any ideas why the Sapphire Preferred didn't come up on his screen as an option to apply for it?
did you check if it shows up as an option when logging in online to apply?

Cancelled my Chase Sapphire Reserve last year after NO "Retention offer" for my account. Waiting for 100000 points to reapply Chase Sapphire Reserve.

48 months before you opened your last sapphire account
