Has anyone who has had a Sapphire card in the past able to apply in-branch and get the AF waived? I went last week and the CSP card would not show up in my profile as an option to apply for and I was told it was because I had the CSR in the past (opened 4 years ago, closed 2 years ago) and I would have to apply on-line. Hoping they fixed it in their system and I can apply in-branch now.....??
I am in the same boat. Earned CSR bonus in early March 2017, downgraded it to a Freedom in March 2018, and when I went to the branch last week it did not show up as an available option when the banker put my info in.

Did anyone who successfully applied in-branch this past week previously have *any* Sapphire card? If so, what card was it and when did you downgrade it? Or did you cancel rather than downgrade? I wonder if that could somehow be a factor (Sapphire was downgraded to a different card, but in-branch system still recognizes it as a Sapphire).

Do you have this offer available online? If yes, then this is interesting.

I too got my bonus CSR points in March 2017 based on my March 2017 statement, and I can see the offer on my online account. However, I have not yet visited a branch.

Yes, if you don't have Chase SP and SR credit cards now ( cancelled or downgraded).

Yes, the 80k offer shows up for me when I log into my Chase account (I also have an active Freedom card). But it does not show up in-branch.I will apply on-line if needed and eat the AF if I have to but I was hoping Chase "fixed" this issue.

Yes, I have been following this thread since the beginning and there are several datapoints from people who didn't get the offer in branch applying online and being approved (with the 80K point bonus).

Did you cancel your CSR? Or did you downgrade/product change it?

I canceled my CSR late January of this year. The $95 waiver is enticing, but I'm worried I'd waste my time going to a branch if they don't see me qualify for the offer.

Any reason I can't apply for this and the Southwest Plus Credit Card (also Chase) on the same day? That would be 120,000 Rapid Reward points between the two cards. Free flights to Hawaii for the fam...
Yes, there is. Chase has an internal rule against getting approved for multiple cards on one day. Even if approved for the 2nd card, Chase will automatically shut it down very soon after AND count it against your 5/24 count. Wait at least a day, then apply for the SW card if you wish.

As discussed many times, it's not about when you closed any Sapphire card. It's more about when the last time you received the bonus points.

Thus, if you opened the last Sapphire card 4 years ago, but received the last bonus points 3 years and 9 months ago, you will NOT qualify.
But if you apply online, will you still get the offer? So the in branch vs online apply are 2 separate offers for qualifying in terms of the 48 month or both.

I know full well about the MDD. Applying for 2 cards on the same day is not the MDD. The risks of the traditional DD with chase - what you advised in your comment - are very well known.
Quote from Fanime :
No, MDD is alive and well. Did it a month ago. There are no DPs of issues with MDD from other churners as well.
What's MDD? Not familiar with this. Also, is it a single or multiple hard credit pull if you apply multiple cards? Thinking about pairing the CSR or CSP with Freedom Unlimited.

I understand that with mortgage you can shop for lenders without getting another hard pull for 30 days. Is this the same with credit cards? Thanks.

Can you apply for CSP to get the 80K and then 'upgrade' to CSR? Don't think I'll be traveling anytime soon to take advantage of the CSR's benefits.

It seems to me that some people cannot get the offer in-branch but it's available for them online. However, I don't think people were able to circumvent the 48 month restriction by applying online.

Yes, after waiting for at least 1 year.

Dang, we just finished spend on 60k offer. I'm thinking of canceling the card within the 30 day mark for AF refund but don't wanna get on Chases bad side.

Call. Ask. Worked for me on the Chase IHG card when I was still in 75k point offer earnings period a 100k offer came out. The verbal update to bonus was followed by email confirmation.
