1) Buy 4000 visa gift card
2) Add it to Venmo
3) Transfer it to bank
4) Pay of the Credit card balance using the bank balance
Is this possible /accepted?
Correct. you can MS/run $$ through the CC, but you're going to eat the fees on it. The question you have to answer for yourself is how much of your bonus the fees will eat up.
you could always buy high dollar vanilla GC for ~ $6 activation (just over 1%.... highest they typically will sell is $500) at the grocery store, get gas points and eat the 1% or whatever (I used to do that primarily to get gas points... saved over $1000 in gas one summer doing that then dumping the GC's via Bluebird..... ahh those were the days)
The rep showed me the screen before we submitted the application. It showed 0 annual fee for the first year as an in branch offer only.

Just a tip, perhaps its just in my area in the Bay in California, to see a banker, an appointment is required. I had walked into a branch earlier this week and could only make an appointment for later. Also found out from the banker that you can make appointments to see the banker online. Hope it helps to save someone a drive.
