OhmConnect appears to be giving new users in eligible areas a $10 gift card to Amazon who sign up and connect their utility account. This only works if you have an electricity account with one of the following California utilities:
OhmConnect is a service that pays you if you reduce your electricity usage at certain times that they notify you about via email and SMS. These periods of time are usually between 15 minutes and 1 hour long, and take place in the afternoon or evening no more than a few times a week. You can redeem the points you earn for reducing energy when your balance reaches $10. Cash-out methods include PayPal, Gift Card, and credit for their online store.
