Rinse it in the fresh water after the toilet refills.
More importantly, you need to moisturize it from time to time so that the rubber doesn't dry out and crack. I like to use coconut oil and whisper sweet nothings into the handle while I caress the cup.
How do you guys rinse/clean them after using them? Surely you aren't plunging dookie and then just putting it right back into this thing

Ah yes that plunger. One day I was trying to unplug a stubborn toilet and broke the handle off that exact model of plunger lol. IIRC it's hollow and gets brittle with time.
I rarely clog a toilet, my method don't flush toilet paper after you wipe, toss it in trash bin. I also use baby wipes. I also flush multiple times during bathroom trip, don't allow build up. Also I'm going to add a bidet spray but it's intimidating to install. Definitely will help use less toilet paper.
say what? dont flush the toilet paper? your trash bin must be very stinky.
