Can you connect 2 rhythm sets together with one power plug?
Manufacturer says there's a limit of 30 nodes per power adapter. I have 31 and it works fine, but guessing I can't do much more.

In my first purchase, I accidentally got a "shapes" set, which wasn't what I was expecting. I then got a "rhythm" set and, before returning the shapes set, had them both at the same time to compare. The triangles/rhythm set is far brighter and more even color spread. The limitation is being all one shape and size, but I prefer them. Attached is the "sheriff's star" I made with mine. Notice the gap I have on the right side, when I finally made it all the way around. This annoys me to no end, but not much I can do about it. Starting over is not an option as it would tear the hell out of my wall. I'll live with it.

One note about the Rhythm Starter Kit. Each kit comes with everything you need: Nanoleaf nodes, connectors, power adapter, 3M adhesive strips, triangle template cutouts, and the rhythm adapter. I have three 9-piece kits and a 3-node expansion, thus I have two extra power adapters and rhythm modules that I won't ever need.

Note that the rhythm adapter is just a small node that you plug into one of the connector slots. When you choose a rhythm scene from the app, it will light up according to the sound it hears. Works okay, but not something I use regularly.

Happy to answer any questions. I should make some notes about installing and the double-sided tape. I started cutting them in half as a whole strip in each corner is way too much. I could go on.

Anyway, very happy with them. You'll like whichever set you get.

I read that the Canvas can support 1000 pieces while the Rhythm can only support 30.... not that anybody here has that kind of panel monie
That's correct. If you see them online, like here [youtube.com], you'll notice that the full-wall spreads are all the Shapes/Canvas nodes. Can't do that with the Rhythm.

These are kind of neat, but I'm not sure I have a room in my house I need to make look like a disco from Saved By the Bell.
Yeah they're cool looking but would look really odd in the average home unless you live in some postmodernist loft.

What makes the kit smarter, and what is it smarter than? Or was it supposed to say starter kit?
No idea. Goofy naming. It is called the "smarter" kit, but no idea why. There is no starter kit, though. Unless you're purchasing expansions alone, each "kit" comes with everything you need.

Can these be connected to PC? And change lights based on music playing/rythm on the PC?
The Rhythm kit comes with a rhythm module which includes a 3.5mm audio port. From what I've read, it works better than in "listening" mode, but I haven't tried it. Regardless, when you're using a rhythm scene (one that listens for/uses sound), the lights pulse to the sound. Probably cooler in some configurations, but not mine so much.

These are very picky as to which wifi systems they work with. For example, they will only work on a 2.4GHz system, not a 5GHz, but even then, it must be an older system. Struggles with Ubiquity systems as well. If you plan to simply hit the power button and never use the app, your good but if you want to take full advantage of them it is hit or miss.

100% correct. It's mind boggling they haven't upgraded their controllers yet to support 5GHz, even after releasing their hexagons last summer.

Source: I used to have 60 of these panels in 3 different configurations in my house over the last 4 years. This is through 3 different wifi systems in my house: Netgear Nighthawks wired APs, to full ubiquiti AC Pro system, to now a single Asus AX89X. The Rhythms hated any kind of multiple AP point wifi system, and I always had to have the 2.4GHz channel on, which was super annoying.

For what it's worth, what I've read confirms all of the above issues. I have a TP-Link Deco mesh wireless and it works great on it. 'Tis annoying having to use 2.4GHz. It might be advisable to get one kit to test with before pursuing more. If you can't sync it to your phone app, it's not worth it.

Nope, not discontinued. Just a confusing product line. The "shapes" line has different shapes that can be interconnected. The "rhythm" line is just the triangles. Shapes cannot connect to Rhythm, and vice versa. You'll have to do your homework to see which ones you want.

Personally, I opted for the Rhythm Starter Kits as I prefer them.
Wasn't there one you could touch too?

Ahh, yes, forgot about that feature. The canvas/shapes line are touch sensitive. That was pretty cool, but I have no desire to touch them on my wall. Could definitely have it's uses, but not for me.

These were stupid in 2016, and they are equally stupid in 2021.

With that being said, here is a DIY project to make your own which I find far more interesting than spending $150 on cheap LEDs with diffusers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cApzqYYVbwo
Just watching that video made me tired. It was like a punishment for Cub Scouts

LOL, agreed. And since this guy is into saving money with DIY, here a link on how to make one's own clothes: https://emilylightly.com/2020/10/...n-clothes/

No? I thought not.
