If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Whelp, spoke too soon. Of course the list updates and 10SCFM4 doesn't work just like all the other recent ones. Dang it, wanted to surprise my father by upgrading his ipod touch 4th Gen to an se.
Are sure you may have misread it originally, as 10FMSC4, because that's eligible.

I have NEVER seen 10SCFM4 being eligible on the list, the one with the 'L' at the end is eligible though.

I have 10SCFM4, like you. It was never listed as eligible last year and somehow I got a free line on the 2nd promo last year

If you add a line by yourself online, does the promo automatically apply if your plan is eligible? Does anyone know?

No love for USCFM4. I wonder what the difference is between that and USCFM4L which does qualify...

You can port in whenever you want. You just can't port out within a year.

huh? this isn't making any sort of grammatical sense. not knocking you, but i just dont' understand what you're saying.....

are you saying that after a year, you can drop one of the paid lines and still keep the free lines?
rule 1: must have at least 2 paid lines at all time in order to keep any free line.

rule 2: you can not cancel any lines you have within 365 days.

ex: if you have 4 paid lines, you add free line today, 1 year later, you can drop 2 of your paid lines. understand?

No worries. Yes, because right now if you cancel any lines that you already have after you add the Free Line, it won't be free anymore. But you can do so after 1 year. I thought you were asking if you can cancel an older line after one year and still keep the new free line for free lol.

I've been with Tmobile for over 12 years and have never been on a contract. I have 5 lines with one being free.
If you have been with Tmo for 12 years, then you must know they are all about dangling promos that involve no-contract "contracts." Many of their promo terms require customers to lock in service for 2 to 3 years or even longer. So yes, essentially it is a contract one is signing if they want to bite the T-mobile promo apple.

Contact TForce through Twitter/Facebook and ask them to change your plan to NAFUTT4. I was also on 10SCFM4 and didn't qualify for any of these free line promos until I requested customer service to change the plan. If you get a rep who won't help you, just keep trying again until you find one. Warning though, it may take about 2 billing cycles for charges to show correctly, so be prepared to contact them to fix billing issues. This happened to me, but now everything's fixed and my account qualifies for these free lines. I was able to add a free line in the last Nov-Dec offer.

Was pretty sure it was on the list yesterday because I was doing a double take. Doesn't matter since it isn't eligible as usual.

Is anyone being told they need to pay a 30$ fee to activate the free line?
