If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I added a new line, I briefly saw the Confirmation after I paid in FireFox, but the page went blank. I went under my account and it shows an entry under activity, but just labeled as SERVICES not new line or anything similar.

Contact TForce through Twitter/Facebook and ask them to change your plan to NAFUTT4. I was also on 10SCFM4 and didn't qualify for any of these free line promos until I requested customer service to change the plan. If you get a rep who won't help you, just keep trying again until you find one. Warning though, it may take about 2 billing cycles for charges to show correctly, so be prepared to contact them to fix billing issues. This happened to me, but now everything's fixed and my account qualifies for these free lines. I was able to add a free line in the last Nov-Dec offer.
I haven't checked lately, but I think changing plans would lose the 15% discount on my account. So I am going to stick with what I have for now. 4 phones 2 tablets for about $120 after taxes. The free tablet lines are pretty much the only reason I stick with Tmobile since service is pretty bad outside of cities in my area. Thanks for the advice though!

Is anyone being told they need to pay a 30$ fee to activate the free line?
$10 sim fee $20 assist fee. its correct. do it yourself just $10 by adding the line from your acct.

you have to wait 1 year since the day you add new free line to cancel 1 paid line, but must kept 2 paid lines the least
so... does this mean that you have to wait 1 year after your latest free line, or 1 year from the time you added the free line with with you want to replace a paid line? Like, does it follow FIFO, or LIFO?

For example, if I added a free line back in early 2020, plus all the other free ones including this one in 2021, can I get rid of a paid line in early 2021, referencing that first free line I added in early 2020? Sorry for confusion. Just want to be clear Smilie

T-Mobile One single line. It's $70 but with hookup, I pay $56. Rarely I'll pay $48 if I go under 2GB
What is "hookup"? I have Tmobile ONE 2 lines both with kick back too. Always looking to save more, ty!

What's the price difference between the two? I also have 10SCFM4.

Of course military is excluded... Not much of a discount to existing military and 55+ lines if you have multiple lines... makes me feel like my military line bill is going up whenever i see the free line promo.
Yup, very frustrating that all these free line promos end up being a better deal than Military or 55+, everything considered. This time the free line is even possible on business accounts, but not Military or 55+.

It's 1 year from the last free line added.

all free with new lines phones are eligible, but not sure which one to buy...

Moto G Play
A11
REVVL 4 and 4+
stylo 6
Aristo 6
K51
I got the A11 and it is slow as hell, granted it is a spare phone to get freebies. I might try the Moto G. I have a few Moto G7 play that performs well enough.

Hookup was a 20% discount they gave out if you ported a line over from another carrier to open a new account. They were hard to get and you had to get them from an employee who had them to give out.
