If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Can someone assist me help me understand as this is the first time I'm attempting to take advantage of their free phone deal. I was chatting with T-force to stack free line 2021 and the iPhone SE on us by porting in my number but I'm being told I have to pay almost $300 upfront which includes activation. Is this correct or maybe I should try another rep.

no costco membership? i mean its just an old SIM, so it should work. call up TMO if it doesnt startup, but again, you dont want issues related to connectivity which all begins with the SIM.

Sometimes I think my posts must be invisible because I've asked a few times about the Line Link and nobody on SD answers. Thankfully it was only a 10 minute wait on the phone and I got a nice rep in the US who quickly answered my question about it. I won't bother to post what was said since clearly nobody else on SD cares about the Line Link.

This is definitely a too good to be true deal getting a free phone for just sales tax and a free line for the cost of a SIM with no price increase on the plan. The only caveat is I can't change any of the cell lines for 1 year which is easy because I'm happy with what I have.

This makes me wonder how T-Mobile can afford to give away free phones and lines to so many existing customers. I'd expect their phone lines would be jammed with millions of customers wanting this deal, but they weren't. I sure hope T-Mo doesn't go out of business and their cell towers don't become super congested with so many new (free) lines.

Was able to add free line (my 4th) on business t-mobile one plan, and apparently stacked with free iPhone SE promo, got a boost mobile number from eBay for $7, worked without problems. Sellers name is noaf_22

Why would Costco make a difference? I actually went to a Coscto/tmobile kiosk and they refused to straight up sell me a SIM or 3

T-Mobile device promos usually involve bill credits. Depending on available credit may determine how much you pay up front, sometimes it's just taxes and fees. But the offsetting credit to make the device free or heavily discounted is applied as monthly bill credits over time. So kinda like a contract where you have financial loss and forgo remaining bill credits if you terminate the account.

1) where are you posting your Line Link question? here? well this isnt a VOIP thread. otherwise, i would say most people dont know how to handle landline VOIP setups or be interested.

2) TMO is pumping out deals as an 10-20 year investment to become a telco juggernaut. people dont understand how TMO can "afford" these deals because they are not thinking about a multi-decade growth pipeline.

I'm on SC family unlimited (SCFUTTBD), This is my 5th free line. I've given the others to my family members. Combined this one with the $99 Galaxy A71 5G offer. I plan on replacing my car's hotspot phone (BLU) with this...

Also, for those wondering the SC plans do get 5G service.I
So..I've added free lines before but have never combined a phone offer with this. Can it all be done online or do I have to use tforce or chat? If I can just do it online, what is the process?
Do I add the free line, then the phone? Thanks

what i meant was add a free line, get a new SIM and put into whatever device you want. yea, most places dont just give you a SIM for free, but its very YMMV. ive heard some TMO stores give them out. but also, your old SIM should work. its just YMMV.

I just did it on chat... you can ask if you qualify and also ask them to waive the $20 service fee... no guessing.
