If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

So with LOU6, currently you have 6 lines (2 paid and 4 free) on MagMax Plan for $110 with hookup discount is that right?
I don't know yet. My billing period will start on 3/22 and I have been waiting for 22 days to switch to MagMax. Looking forward for that.

Does your bill go negative or it stops at 0 and you left with Netflix cost? If all my lines get kickback, it will go below 0 but that will never happen with my users.
With mine it never goes below Netflix and EIP. So that means it will never go negative.
We are also heavy users but don't have enough people to use all the lines, so we get the Kickback on those unused lines.

How many lines total do you have and how many of those lines needed KB to only pay Netflix price only? Do you have insider hookup? Thanks.

Good to know, thanks. I get nervous that my account might trigger an audit with the bill in the 20s.

Interesting, thanks!

I'm on a simple choice family plan for $120/mth - 4 lines

I've been looking for a better deal but Maybe I missed a deal on a better plan
I'm on simple choice too. I eat the tax and fees for now because what I have is less than upgrading my plan.

Good idea to stay above that. I think I will add more phone EIP to keep it close to $40 range

I am on an old grandfathered plan (One Amp) , can I switch to Magenta Max AND use this promo at the same time? Is there a waiting period before AAL?

EDIT: Looks like new magenta max plan SOC code (for 3 lines at least) is MPLSFAM which is included in this promo.

All - I just got the deal via speaking to TForce agent on the mobile app and can confirm the following:

1. Line is absolutely FREE. May or may not include additional billing taxes depending what plan you're on.

2. iPhone SE promo is absolutely FREE. There is currently two offers for the SE, one of which is FREE and the other 50% off. Speak to a live agent and get it for FREE. If you purchase it with directly from the site, it will only reflect 50% off. The rep originally said it did not stack, but keep pressing. I litterally used slick deals and reddit as proof. Show the screen shots of users stacking both promos if needed. He eventually got it confirmed by whoever was above him.

3. Google Voice Port-In is allowed according to the Tforce agent I spoke with. However, many users including the OP do not recommend porting a GV number. YMMV.

All I had to pay was $30, which was the tax on the phone it self. I'll will have to pay $3 later to unlock number from GVoice prior to porting. This will be done once the phone arrives.

I confirmed every single detail in the above and have everything in writing. I suggest everyone else does the same.

Good luck.

EDIT 1: Additional monthly billing taxes may or may not apply depending on what plan you're on.

EDIT 2: Based on the feedback from this thread, it looks like GV porting is still unconfirmed. However, a Tforce agent did tell me that it was allowable. YMMV.

That was my base until adding five (including this) more free lines, and this time the $175 Pixel. Gotta start somewhere.

so i added a line for free and went for the iphone 12 on us promo.

they said the way the 830 breaks down is $170 is a bill credit and the 660 is split across 24 months.

is there anyway to have the $170 apply to the phone and not the total bill? i ask because i split the bill with others and it would make it a lot easier if i could adjust the bill credit to the phone directly.

Unfortunately most of these deals don't work with grandfathered plans.

Edited: Here is the short version of what I have:

Magenta® 1.0
$66.00/mo

Cost: $310

Applied discounts and promotions:
$40 AutoPay Discount
$54 Insider Discount
$30 19 Magenta Friday Free Line
$30 2020 Line On Us
$30 2020 Line On Us 2
$30 2020 Line on Us 3
$30 2020 Line On Us 4
holy hell that's an amazing price. you've gamed the system better than me. i'm at:
  • $160/m
  • 9 lines
    • 6 paid
    • 3 free
  • insider discount
it's a bit tough to convince others on my plan to cancel their line though so we could lower the bill. most people don't want to change their phone numbers Frown

Just curious what you all do with all free lines? I am on simple choice plan and it charges $4.10 per month as Tax. I am not using that free line. I have only one free line. So it is not completely free. Is everyone getting charged tax on free line or any exceptions?
