If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Thank you for posting this deal.

This worked successfully on a T-Mobile One plan (SOC code TIULFM9) with 8 paid lines, 2 free lines from prior promotions, and now this third free line.

I was also able to stack this promotion with the half off (up to $300 off) iPhone 11 deal, although I was told the promotion works with the iPhone 12 mini (not the other variants of the iPhone 12), and even though the offer page on the T-Mobile website does not list the iPhone 12 mini as an eligible phone. The offer code for the half-off/$300 deal was 2021 Apple Activate P2.

I have a line on Cricket that I ported away from T-Mobile (technically Tello/Sprint) ~ 2 months ago. Anybody know how long a line has to be away from T-Mobile to be eligible for this free line promo?

Why were they not able to add ? Did you try another rep ?
Quote from er82 :
It looks like it just hasn't updated to reflect your autopay discount. Give it a day or 2 to update and you should see same price as before. When I switched plans it took a couple of days for all discounts to show up on my side even though the reps could see them on their end.
rep says up to 2 billing cycles. from their end, they also see the new pricing of $144, not the $128. We are all assuming the system will fix itself in a day or two or a billing cycle or two.

Was able to successfully add a line on grandfathered simple choice plan. Rep told me it would have the same services as others, which was the unlimited data - upgraded from 2019 promotion I think.

However, upon checking this morning, it just shows up with 6GB data stash. Anyone in the same boat? How can I match the new line to have the same services/promotion as my existing ones?

hey buddy. how did you get the $15 New TMO Insider Voice 20% (Additional Lines)?
I got the 20% insider only for the 2 paid line. how did you get it for the free line? do you just chat with them and ask them to add it? what is the trick?

thank you
I don't. 20% is on the entire bill. The discount per line added up is more than the actual discount i get. I have 8 lines, 3 paid, 2 BOGO, 3 Free stand-alone. monthly bill is $128.
after they changed, the monthly bill is $144. T-mobile is trying to get it back to what it was before but the system is not letting them. They said to wait until new bill generated in about 3 weeks and they will have much higher level involved if the system can't sort itself out.
looks like i can't get this new free line now.

So apparently when you switch plans the free line credits moves with you, even if the new plan includes all the lines already, how does this work? So the new plan include 6 lines, but I'm able to get $30 credit for 3 free lines even though all I have is 6 lines.

Anyone know if I get a phone if I could use it with a line that I already have?

Or does it need to be with the line you open?
You can use the phone on any line or stick it in a drawer. doesn't matter to them as long as you keep the line associated with the eip active.

I was referring to SOC TIULFM9. He was asking me about TIULFM9.
Sorry about that. I missed the beginning of the chat.

From what I know, you can have 12 Voice lines and 5 MI lines on this SOC.
Thanks. What's the break down of the plan? 9/$270 w/$30 AAL? Do you have One Plus? What is the SOC for free One Plus? I wonder if I can get them.

Thanks.

How about later on if I decide to port another number replacing that line.

Would I still be alright or would I lose the credit?

As long as the line stays active, the promo will stay.

It is $310 for 9 lines without autopay + $30 for additional lines.

One plus is an add on. SOC is same for one and one plus.

I have one plus on all lines that was grand fathered with my old plan.

I am being told that I am maxed out at 8 lines on Tmobile One plan, so they can't add the free line, even though I technically qualify for it. Any idea what the workaround is?
