If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I have to pay $460 using my credit card for the iphone 12 pro yesterday when doing the trade in at store, I was told that my credit limit was almost reached, only had about $500 left, I can either pay off the previous eip ( did 4 S21 deal earlier) I am still doing the math and see if I am not really out of money by doing this? I mean that my $460 credit card payment will eventually be paid back within 24 months.

I already got the free line and am waiting for SIM to arrive. Can I still get the iPhone SE free when I call to get a number ported into the free line? Thanks!
Yes, you can get the free phone with the trade-in and port-in as long as the free line promo and free phone promo are both active and offered by Tmobile. There are indications/talks that the free line promo may end midnight on sunday.
You are better off chatting with TEM, or T-force on twitter or facebook right now to get the process of ordering new phone, trade-in and port-in.

Yes, you will receive the full credit of $830 via instant credit + 24 monthly credits irrespective of the down payment.

For e.g if your instant credit was $100 for the phone, you will receive 24 monthly credits of $730/24 = $30.42.
This credit will offset what you owe on the phone per month and ends up as a credit back to the account each month.

If you have only Tmobile internet and no active phone lines, and you are switching over from AT&T, you can avail the insider hook up promo. Just find the right rep in-store to do it for you.

https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/..._17th_for/

There are plenty of phone deals for switching over.

Thanks! Hopefully the offer lasts a little longer. Don't feel comfortable calling to port in when I don't have the physical SIM in hand yet.

Thanks and repped, this cleared my doubt. I saw this morning the EIP was calculated, it shows that I have -20.06 monthly on EIP, yesterday at the store, I traded in a S9, rep told me I got $80 credit for the phone, I know the Iphone 12 credit is $830, since I chose the 12 pro, which is $999.99, plus some $66 tax, I paid about $460 using credit card, since I was told that my credit limit was not enough for the phone, so the -$20.06 monthly should be what I will receive back for the credit card payment I made ? Did they charge me the correctly? many thanks.

Anyone know if Costco has a new deal for adding a line - I think the $150 deal expired yesterday.

Edit - Looks like it is $100 new line promotion through 4/4 - https://membershipwireless.com/tmobile

I added the free line and then upgraded it to iPhone-12 with Trade-in/port-in for "iPhone-12 on us" promo.
Everything went fine including placing the order, old iPhone details etc.
But I didn't get the Assurant paperwork for trade-in details or return shipping label etc.
When do I get it?
Is it sent with the new iPhone-12?
