If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

They allowed you to keep the free lines with no additional costs? I'm on simple choice and every time I ask they said I would lose the free status. Currently on 5 free lines and 4 paid
If I read correctly you have 9 lines now. I'm on simple choice and you should be able to add up to 10 voice lines on SC. I have 10 voice and one data line. 6 lines are included in my plan, 1 paid and 3 free lines. Going to cancel the paid line in December.

a lot of ppl on magenta max..it's part of the only 3 plans offered by Tmobile for new subscribers. Ask your question.
Thanks!
If switching to Magenta Max, do all promos transfer l, for those with personal experience? Also if 9-12 lines, what is the credit per line for free lines?
