So, I got the free line 3 days ago and the plan price didn't change, the free line reflects correctly.

I just ordered the phone and initiated the port in to the free line today. The port in seems to be successful. But the free line promo seems to be lost (the plan went up in price to account for the price of the new line). Is this normal?

I am wondering if I should sit tight and wait a few days to see if the free line promo and the "free" iphone SE with port in offer shows up?

Or, is this a sign of something gone wrong and I messed up somewhere?

I just received the Iphone 12 and it is sealed. Does anyone know if the SIM card is inside the phone?
Yes, it's inside. But that SIM is not active. The one that is active is the one with the free line that you ordered or used a spare you had or got from costco. Essentially it's a spare SIM you have in there.

I think the S9 is one of the best if you want to trade and get a free S21 5G, but I don't know many of the other phones though. There, the iPhone 8 will give you only half.
The s21 is for upgrades anyways, so no rush.
We all talking about the iPhone 12 on us, so iPhone 8 is the best trade in.

Sometimes it takes closing a billing cycle to get properly reflected in the system.

What do you mean the one that is active is the one with the free line? Are you implying that there should be another SIM. One that comes with the phone (inside) and the one I was charged for?

Side Note: Previously I upgraded a S21 on a different line and it came with a SIM card. The box was not sealed so I was able to remove the SIM card and not use that one.

There's are cheaper options but you could always walk into an an AT&T store for a $30 pre-paid number. When I was desperate last year (after an eBay number failed to port), I walked into an AT&T store, told the rep I needed a phone number that I was going to port out and left the store with sim card, phone #, account # and account PIN. If you do this, bring a spare unlocked phone with you if you can because they'll need to send a couple of texts for account setup.
I think at this point if you are without a number I would bite the bullet and do that above. Get the ATT or Verizon number in store, off to Costco to activate the line, get a phone from Swappa, call 611 to do the phone trade, and then call the number porting center. A lot of hassle and the stars need to line up.

T-Mobile Number transfer Center 24 hours a day / 7 days a week 1-877-789-3106

you can call and then reserve your spot for a callback. I found the estimated call back is usually much longer than reality. If it says 1h expect 45min, if it says 2h expect 90 minutes. Watch your phone! If you miss it they will try again within a few minutes. Good luck! My the force be with you.

Otherwise, make your peace with it. We can't win them all. You still got a free line. It's amazing.

yes, if you activate a new line (free LOU 6) and paid $10 for a sim it will usually come in the mail likely in a few days. The new number usually activates once the SIM ships. Check your account, you may have a tracking number. That's been my experience. the SIM's in the phones were never hot/live I guess unless you are a new customer signing up for the first time maybe.

In any case, you could transfer the line to a new SIM if you wanted in your account (web portal) and move it on a another spare SIM. That would deactivate any live SIM in the phone and make that a spare. No need to open the phone unless you want to unlock it. For the unlock it needs to be on the network for 42 days.

The Costco BYOD is valid at least until 3/25. Costco local KIOSK told me the last activation they are allowed to do is 30 min before Costco store closes. If you want to go that route don't go last minute!
I was able to activate my line just a few minutes before store closing without any issues so the issue must have been store specific.

I believe so. Officially the the wording is no Costco rebates for phones but you are not asking for a costco phone rebate, you will take advantage of the BYOD which is a COSTCO shop card and a different system. So, you should be able to do all that and even take advantage of a phone promo on T-Mobile if you wanted to.
Any idea on which phone number to use for the Costco rebate processing since I have since ported in a new number for the Iphone 12 promo.
