If only it wasn't for the privacy screen, those things are terrible.

agreed, the screens on this are just horrific. I have the 500 nit one with the non-optional privacy filter (which can be disabled) and it's still dim as all heck. Waiting for the new one to come out.

I would vote T14 and then find a 400 nit screen on Aliexpress or something and replace that screen. The 250 nit isn't good but it's FHD and useable until you can replace the screen.

Avoid the 500 nit privacy screen. Pure garbage.

I have the 300nit model, which can get quite bright.
IMO you would only need more brightness if you find yourself working out in the sun, even then you might be ok with 300nits.

This is an OK deal, nothing special. I recall paying ~$975 close at launch last June/July for my Ryzen 7pro+32gb., fingerprint, backlit kb.
I did get the base ssd though (128GB). Factor in $120 for upgrading it to the WD 1TB SN750, and I paid $1100.

Also, Intel Gen 2 (T14/T15) are already on sale.
X13 Gen 2 isn't too far behind if you are able to wait.

Hopefully, the new motherboard will enable PCE Gen4 Smilie

Second this, privacy screens are garage across the board.

Looks like Lenovo is clearing those last year gen T14, P14s, etc series including CUSTOMIZE&BUY (55%~69% off) through employee perk site(?)

Like can get decent config of X13, T14, T14s, P14s, etc, for $500 to $1000 (or more) depend on CPU, memory, storage, screen, etc.

Is AMD 4x00U (like 4750U/4650U/4600U, etc) or last year Intel model of T14, P14s, etc worth around $600~$900?

For those don't mind E Series, E15 Gen 2, 4500U, 16GB ram, 512GB SSD is $589
P15s, i5-10310U with vPro, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, $755
P14s, i7-10610U with vPro, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, $899

Other CUSTOMIZE&BUY (may be 55%~69% off)

through those perk at work/beneplace/etc site.

Is it worth getting 4750U or last year Intel CPU for T Series, P14s(P Series), etc, around $800~$900?

Seems like people that talk about ThinkPad hate Privacy Guard screen. Unless they must have that feature, otherwise people always regretting it deeply getting Privacy Guard which reduce viewing angles (in turn reduce brightness because of bad viewing angles) even when the feature is turned off.

May want to point that out in Title in those threads.

I bought the 4750U one posted here.

My thinking was how bad could it be? The screen looks good enough looking at it straight on, but I am not in front of it a lot of times the typical way I use laptops.

And It's not just comparing it to a "bad" screen that has a low gamut and low contrast, it is really hard to live with it. I decided I couldn't and have initiated a return a week and a half after receiving it.

Thanks was on the fence about this. Decided to not go with it after seeing your post.
