$8 each seems expensive. The trilogy was recently fifteen with physical media.

For those with various systems, just like the Borderlands games these are 30 fps on Switch vs. 60 fps on PS4/X1/PC.

The collection is also on sale often at $10 on X1/PS4 if you care about better performance over portability.

Just saw this for $20 (Switch) at Target today, too.

That's why I haven't bought it. Trying not to encourage this behavior by developers/publishers. I'm old school, I want to pop the game in and it's complete...no servers to rely on and possibility of never being able to play it again when I dig my old switch out of a box 20 years from now
A counterpoint is that games are released broken that are patched to make them playable. If the server is down then the game on the physical cartridge is worthless. Also after building many retro machines and my closet full of gamecube, nes, gameboy, ps1, etc I found I never play anything older than the current generation. That's just me though I guess.

There's no way the Switch game cards are going to last as long as their previous cartridge based generations.

These use flash memory, not ROM.

The DS and 3DS use similar flash memory and there's already been reports of games not holding up, especially after being shelved for years.
So what you're saying is that they've learned from their mistakes...

Physical of digital every time. This is not a deal for these three games.
Except the physical copy requires big downloads. The burden of taking up lots of space AND requiring an inserted cart is a deal breaker

That's perfect, got 1TB.
Yeah, just formatted my 10TB micro SD card this weekend. Not worried about the space. Thanks OP.

Recently finished Infinity, the story is great! Would recommend in any platform if you enjoy shooters with interesting stories with a twist or two

The 1st two are not bad if you do a bit of digging but Infinite... oh boy is it convoluted and bad.

Physical games are never worthless, what do you mean? I don't play online games if that's what you mean. Single player for me thanks (bioshock is awesome). They always work as long as the entire game is in it, not like this game where its basically a key that allows you to download the rest. You can patch physical games too. In the old days (I know this sounds crazy) for the most part developers used to release games 100% complete. Digital format has promoted the release of incomplete games. I love my old classic games, still have my original NES, SNES, and others. To each their own, but don't take away my ability to play my favorite games many years later, that's all I ask.

PS, look what's happening with Sony online stores shutting down, ps3, vita, psp all being shut down this summer, you will never have access to your digital games again. Nintendo has been doing the same for their online stores. This won't end, and if you ever want to play these games on digital format again you'll have to wait and see if they re-release them for full price on a future console.

All companies are trying to force "planned obsolescence" these days. If nintendo is doing that on purpose it just means I won't buy physical copies either. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
