If you don't see your Model listed which was the case for me Click on Instant Chat. I got a live human being. I told her my Model Number was GWTN156-5BL and she said that the drivers are the same as GWTN156-2. I also had to give her my serial number.
Lastly I asked about the SSD slots, and here's the response I got.
Main slot is PCIe/SATA with a max drive of 256
Secondary slot is SATA with a max drive of 256
For a max total of 512
Please post your, if you were able to stuff a bigger drive into either slot.
Good Luck

I've had the blue one for about a month or so and I like it very much. The track pad is garbage, otherwise I don't have much to complain about. Oh, the power button is where "delete" goes so expect to punk yourself a few times.
I like the feel of it, the metal feeling lid helps it not feel super cheap.
I use it for prepping 3d models for my printer, and it's very good at what I ask it to do.
BTW it does charge via USB c despite it saying data only.
I look at most of the comments here and they are from people who don't know what they are talking about. A few said the obvious, this Gateway with 16GB RAM is a great deal. Most peddle worthless information about buying refurbs or looking for a laptop that still has an optical drive. This Gateway will sell out and then everyone will say what a great deal it was, just as what happened over a year ago with the Motile laptop. The comment someone made about AMD chips overheating is typical. The Ryzen 5 chip in this laptop uses 15 watts versus the 35 watts of an Intel I5, which I already mentioned. Automakers can't finish building cars because of the chip shortage, the chips needed in cars' CAN Bus systems. Yet $349 for a pretty good laptop with a one generation old Ryzen 5 chip is scoffed at by these "experts." They can always buy a $2,000 Alien desktop that is great at gaming.

This is misleading. What is your source? The comparable Intel in these models is the i5-1035G1[cpubenchmark.net] (which performance-benchmarks slightly higher), which has the same "typical" TDP as the Ryzen 5 3450U[cpubenchmark.net] of 15 W. (This is more of a rough benchmark than a representative of the actual power draw of the processor in a given system).

I still have Gateway PC Pentium 4 2.0 GHz 1.25GB RAM Floppy CD Model with 40GB of Maxtor drive from 2002 collecting dust. Paid $1427.50 with Epson FAR printer.
Those were the days going to Gateway country, Circuit City, Good Guys, CompUSA for deal hunt....

vs Intel Core i5-6500TE
Reasons to consider the AMD Ryzen 5 3450U
4 more threads: 8 vs 4
Around 6% higher clock speed: 3.5 GHz vs 3.30 GHz
A newer manufacturing process allows for a more powerful, yet cooler running processor: 12 nm vs 14 nm
2.3x lower typical power consumption: 15 Watt vs 35 Watt
Around 5% better performance in PassMark - Single thread mark: 2016 vs 1916
Around 34% better performance in PassMark - CPU mark: 7131 vs 5329
And why are you using the i5-6500TE (released Q4 2015 for desktops) for comparison with the 3450U (released Q2 2020)? I used the i5-1035G1 (5/2019) because it is being offered in the GWTN156-1, which is in every other respect the same model and comparatively priced (hence why I listed the refurb), and is also offered in many other comparatively priced laptops of 2020.

Around 3% higher clock speed: 3.60 GHz vs 3.5 GHz
A newer manufacturing process allows for a more powerful, yet cooler running processor: 10 nm vs 12 nm
Around 50% more L3 cache; more data can be stored in the L3 cache for quick access later
Around 17% better performance in PassMark - Single thread mark: 2354 vs 2016
Around 12% better performance in PassMark - CPU mark: 7963 vs 7131
Does it come with bloatware? Is it worth doing a fresh windows install?
I would do a fresh windows install anyway. Windows 10 pro isnt really pro as it sounds as the version come with too many "features". Aim for something like windows 10 ltsc

The comments here are great 😂
If bought about 10 of the Intel version (both 14" and 15.6" sizes) over the past 6 months and here are my observations.
1. Processor and RAM on this thing make it quite responsive. I've run some 2D CAD on it and it doesn't sweat. Zoom allows 49 participants on screen on the Intel version (not sure about the AMD version) The RAM is soldered so there is no upgrading but I figure it's preparing for the future.
2. HDMI runs a 4K TV just fine, not sure what level of HDMI.
3. Keyboard and trackpad are not the greatest but they certainly are not the worst. They function quite nicely. The placement of the power button next to the delete key is an accident waiting to happen but I've learned and am cautious.
4. Speakers are not very loud and the Mic on one sounded muffled.
5. The camera on several has a purple tint. I believe there is an issue with an IR filter. It definitely is affected by lighting. I find avoiding certain lights reduces or eliminates the tint.
6. Not much bloatware to speak of. It's actually quite refreshing. If I remember correctly there was Norton's and 3 game links. I remove then all once I get to the desktop after initial windows setup.
7. The wifi and Bluetooth work well. I have fiber internet and ubiquiti equipment so speed test regularly gets me 150+ up and down over the wifi. Plenty sufficient for zoom, etc.Jabra headset works well for several answering teams phone calls.
8. The fan does cycle on and off. Some have more noise than others. I had to send one back (warranty repair) because the fan was hitting something. The return went fairly smooth. I called a place out in California that handles warranty calls for a number of manufacturers. I had to back everything up and send out to them (my cost) and they have a 4 week turn around. About 4 weeks to the day of them receiving it, I got an email stating my replacement had been shipped (their cost). I've since set it up and here I am writing this comment.
Would I buy another, sure. Especially for those on a budget, you really can't beat the build/price factor. Some may decide to get an external camera and/or keyboard/mouse combo to make it work for them.

Can anyone tell me if this is better than the Motile laptop that walmart sold for 299 a couple of months back. It seems pretty similar but if this one is better then I might buy it. Thanks

So I take it to mean that there is no Ethernet port.
Would still love a link to the manufacturer;s site if anyone finds it.
