If you don't see your Model listed which was the case for me Click on Instant Chat. I got a live human being. I told her my Model Number was GWTN156-5BL and she said that the drivers are the same as GWTN156-2. I also had to give her my serial number.
Lastly I asked about the SSD slots, and here's the response I got.
Main slot is PCIe/SATA with a max drive of 256
Secondary slot is SATA with a max drive of 256
For a max total of 512
Please post your, if you were able to stuff a bigger drive into either slot.
I've had the blue one for about a month or so and I like it very much. The track pad is garbage, otherwise I don't have much to complain about. Oh, the power button is where "delete" goes so expect to punk yourself a few times.
I like the feel of it, the metal feeling lid helps it not feel super cheap.
I use it for prepping 3d models for my printer, and it's very good at what I ask it to do.
BTW it does charge via USB c despite it saying data only.
Dude. Just click the link and look.

I like mine, but I agree with the others that the speaker volume is too low. I have a cheapie lenovo ideapad that has louder speakers than this.. other than that, seems to work well enough.
Agree on speakers being low and tinny. Tuned by Tim, Hank, and Xavier I guess. But headphones work fine. With the fan coming on at weird times you can throttle windows search indexing (which by default overrides your power settings) by going to settings -> "Searching Windows" (choose which files are being indexed), and set the "Indexer Performance" button to "on". I believe Windows Defender respects performance settings, but I could be mistaken. Otherwise the laptop is surprisingly low-heat so I'm not sure what metric they use to trigger the fan.
Does anybody else get a weird tactile sensation from the top surface of the laptop? It sends needles down my spine and is honestly making me consider sending it back. It's only the top flat surface, the one with the Gateway logo, that does this to me -- the rest feels smooth. It happens when on or off, plugged in or not, so it's not electrical.
Received the laptop several days ago. It's for my daughter in high school. She reports that wifi cuts out and drops bars, and disconnects/lags on video messaging app (google meet for school). Also had a hard time streaming stuff tonight. Desktop computer in same room (running a 10 yr old USB wireless-n dongle!) has no problem with internet connectivity.
The bluetooth also as a hard time staying connected.
When we received it, there was 1 dead pixel. Not too bad since the other ~1.99 million pixels work, but also not good because we paid for a brand new computer and not a refurb or used computer.
I think we are going to return and replace with another one from Walmart and see if quality is better on the 2nd one. Maybe we got a bad one or it was dropped/damaged during shipping (box was in good condition on arrival though).
Long term I have concerns about quality given the issues when it's brand new!
My daughter reports it is blazing fast though. Minecraft has been the main gaming activity so no real stress test yet.
I'm clueless as to the secondary ssd I can add to this, through the easy port on the bottom. What kind can I buy? There's no owner's manual so I don't know max capacity, even.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal.
Bought. And of course when the battery gets low it shuts off.
But if I plug into 11ov with the charger. I have to wait until it charges to come back on. On my other laptop I can still use it by plugging in even when battery low

I am interested as well, if I keep it I like to add more storage
The 2nd M.2 port on bottom can only take M.2 SATA SSD, not M.2 NVME SSD. Tested so I know.
I forgot I had an Intel NVME ssd drive, I tried it tonight, it was not recognized by the bios in either M.2 slots. Unless I'm missing something, sadly, I must agree.
If you put your ear to it, I can hear a weird electrical whine probably from the capacitors. Does anyone else have something similar? (It was also mentioned in the ars technica review, where it seemed to be noticeable even at normal distances, but mine can only be heard at really close distances)
I noticed a sound like that today on the upper left side by the speaker. I checked again a little later and it was gone.
What size did you test? I read somewhere it it only recognizes up to 500GB M.2 drives, but it's hard to find any confirmation on that anywhere.
256GB Samsung Pro 960 NVME.
The primary M.2 port actually works for NVME SSD, at least for the Samsung I tested. The 2nd M.2 port at the bottom can only takes M.2 SATA SSD.
Sorry I don't know the max size that the 2nd M.2 port can take.
