Alright folks, as requested I created a video with a step-by-step to replace the front fan and repaste the RTX 3080 GPU. The temps in my machine decreased from 110 degree memory junction down to 76 degrees following these relatively simple mods. Not too bad.

I'm not a youtuber, simply created this video for your benefit to maximize the performance of the unit. Here is a link:
https://youtu.be/YklybEdoKIM
"Dell Aurora R12 RTX 3080 Repaste and Fan optimization - Easy 30 degree temp difference fix!"

Enjoy.
You and everyone else. Everyone coming to slickdeals and posting these 3080 deals from dell don't understand that they will not actually ship.

I've done it twice now. Both times they delayed my shipment every month. My first order took 5 months of delays before they finally cancelled and gave me a crappy 10% coupon that expires in June. Everyone on reddit knows not to bother posting these dell builds because dell doesn't ship. They simply take your payment information, add you to their mailer list, sell your information to other companies, cancel your order and enjoy the profits of their farmed mailer list of people who want the latest technology.

Dell is trash tier right now, hell I'd even trust Newegg over Dell when it comes to 3080 products, and that's embarrassing to say.

https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...-hot-price <- IGN did an article on this already. It was full of $1500 3080 builds and links.

Trust me, these guys aren't shipping. Feel free to reply here with a picture of it actually arriving if you think you can prove me wrong.

Alienwares are pretty much garbage IMO (and I have owned 2), because the case is so small, and they get hot. The new 3080 and 3090's are custom for dell, so they are really short too. Also, a lot of the alienware stuff is proprietary, so it's not interchangeable.

I also had a couple of the HP's with the 3080 and 3090's. The Case is universal, the GPU's are regular shape and length (non branded). The ram can be swapped with modification, and you can ad better fans to the case to make a killer rig.
I asked about the proprietary stuff at the beginning and told there are no issues. But beside that, my question was wouldn't it be better to go with a build that has pcie 4? Doesn't have to be Alienware.

the $50 off $699 doesn't work anymore. Luckily deal came out to $1,744.95 after all taxes/coupons for me.

i7-11700F
RTX 3080
8GB Ram
1TB HDD
1000w PSU w/ liquid cooling
intel wi-fi 6 ax201
$2131.99 (SubTotal)
-$213.20 (10% off)
-$38.38 (Member's get best Price)
$1,880.41 (Total)
+$164.54 (tax SoCal 8.75%)
$2,044.95 (Estimated Total)
-$300 (3x Amex $100 off $500)
$1745 (new total)
Did the same thing but used 2x 100 off 500 amex offers + 1x 10% off amex offer, which is slightly better. Also got the recommended upgrades in the OP for slightly more.

Crazy deal.

I tried splitting payments on Amex offers in the past on the same order and would only get 1 cash back. I think they verify the order numbers to prevent duplicate cashback offers 🤷🏽

How are you guys using so many AMEX offers? They are limited to one per account now regardless of the number of AMEX cards you have in your wallet. Do you just have alot of members of your family with amex cards?

Did you split among 3 cards then? or was the 10% amex offer on one of your amex cards? I couldn't get the 50 off 599 coupon to apply and I had to speak with chat support to split the payment into 3. The only issue is that the payment posts as "DELL MARKETING,L.P.#17" and I haven't received an email saying offer is used so I'd be mindful about that if you're in the same boat.

That's not how amex offers work. As long as you satisfy the requirements you'll get all the promos. Heck if dell let you use up to 5 cards in one transaction and you all 5 had the dell amex offer and you satisfied all requirements, I don't see why you wouldn't get all 5 deals.

Amex offers are limited to 1 per person not 1 per household. So yeah lots of family/friends with Amex's. I have multiple Amex cards myself and if you see an offer on two cards, then "add to card" for one of them, the offer gets removed from the other card.

The 10% back and 100 off 500 are separate offers, so you just need one other person.

Yeah, 10% back is on a different card than 100 off 500. I used 3 cards.

Normally I'd agree but the dell 3080 and 3090 is hot garbage. Sucks at OCing, especially within this chassis. This will NOT sell for $2k on ebay. It WILL however still sell for way over MSRP of a 3080 because of the market right now and the desire for a 3080
Take a look at the eBay link I listed at the bottom of the original post. These Dell OEM 3080: are selling all day long for $2k or $2.1K on eBay.

Chase offer expires in 2 days for most people, and I think Dell charges for real when they ship so you might miss it.

The Intel 11700f has pci-e 4.0 capability
I'm not sure if the motherboard in these will though.

F**k dell, ordered Aurora r11 with nvidia 3080, the day I got it start freezing black screen, only hard reset would help. It would do that every 30 min or so. Long story short it was bad nvidia card, they set up replacement for me 3 weeks ago, still no replacement, customer service is a piece of shit, same like calling to spirit airlines, all work in India, they kept telling me that I have to wait one more day. Will never purchase dell NEVER. they have nice deals but when it's not working Noone will help you.
