Would JBL honor the 5/1 year warranty if purchased from woot.com? I know the warranty information is posted in the sales page but woot is not listed under JBL's authorized vendor.

I just contacted JBL via chat on their website and the agent said they will not be honoring the warranty because Woot.com is not an authorized dealer. Therefore, I think you'd only have the 90-day warranty from Woot.com.

Agent: Welcome to Harman, my name is PRINCESS. How may I help you today?
Me: Do you offer warranty for factory reconditioned speakers from woot.com?
Agent: How may I help you?
Agent: May I know the speaker you have right now?
Me: I don't have a JBL speaker right now but I was looking to buy these: https://electronics.woot.com/offers/jbl-studio-590-dual-8-floor-standing-speaker-1
Agent: Oh I see. Let me check if it's under our authorized dealers. One moment please.
Agent: Per checking, I was not able to look for authorized dealers under the woot company but you can check the lists here https://www.jbl.com/authorized-dealers.html
Me: So no warranty from JBL whatsoever on these speakers from woot.com?
Agent: Yes, we cannot assure the warranty for this one.
Me: Okay, thank you!
Agent: For the link provided these are authorized dealers from JBL you can check it if you would like.
Agent: Would there be anything else that I can help you with?
My guess would be various shipping damage that has been addressed. These are big, heavy speakers and the factory packaging is not all that great. Fairly common to see reports of speakers arriving (from Harmon) with shipping damage.
Savings might be worth the gamble on the 590, but my records show my 580 pair cost me $700 shipped originally.
