Be careful: HP has a 15% restocking fee and will not cancel your order unless you BEG them to, and even then it has to go through a special decision-maker in manufacturing.

Definitely not on the up-and-up relative to other brands.

It's a hot deal because the current cost of a RTX 3070 is between $900 and 1,300 dollars. Simple as that. They could put a Pentium in this and it would still be a deal.

100% nonsense. Every guide and spec is going to over-rate the PSU because there are so many junk Chinese PSU's on the market. Nvidia is also in bed with the other manufacturers, of course, and will say what's necessary to oversell wattage.

500W is more than enough. Even if you had a 3900X in it. Nvidia just recommends high specs so people dont bother them because they are running an overclocked I9 with the 3070 and a cheap China PSU that cant handle it.

Snagged the 3600 version for 1183 with wifi upgrade (cause it was like $10)

The 5600x will work on a b450 board, but the hp bios is locked down. If you swap out the motherboard everything becomes easier.

I plan to cancel mine if I get a loose 3060ti/3070, don't take care about how shitty cs is about it. Otherwise a 3600 is plenty fast and can be a future upgrade point.

Can u get this build and swap the 3070 for a rx 580 I have now. Just want a cpu upgrade from i5 2500k. Sell the 3070 for 1k maybe.

Anyone have link to actual cards in hp systems for sale o. eBay?

The MOBO is super locked down. I have the intel version though and was able to boot it with a GTX 960 1256MB I swapped out from the RTX3090 24GB.

I had to swap it back for now because my new custom build has a bad motherboard.

I guess I killed it for everyone trying to buy this while being cursed. There was a bug adding me to the education store. By time I got around it, they had downgraded the 3070 configuration in my cart (without telling me) and now it won't let me configure anything on the base model.... Any other way?

I am still lock in -- cart has it for 1,110.07 pretax. Chat is good, the chat people are responsive and will stack the edu discount + coupon. Effectively 10% off.

I am curious to know if buying (and returning and/or customer service and technical support) a computer through HP.com is a good decision or not. I have already decided that I won't buy a computer through NewEgg or CyberPowerPC due to their poor return policies and customer service.
