No hdmi 2.1 kills it for me. TV is already obsolete tech wise unless you're only using it to watch movies.

The future of what? For people who aren't gamers, why should they even care?

The A80J is priced between the C1 and G1, if recent price leaks are accurate. Completely reasonable pricing.

Because Sony has better processing, upscaling and motion, and some people care more about that than they do about gaming features. This shouldn't be that hard to wrap your brain around. Sony and LG OLEDs are good displays with different strengths and weaknesses. LG's SoC and gaming features are better. That doesn't make them better overall TVs. Some people don't even play games, as I assume you know.

Good for you.

I feel like this might be the lowest it gets. Might have to finally buy now. I've been debating between this and CX but feel like either or will be amazing. I don't game hard core.

I had the CX, and I returned it for the A8H. I game, but not as much on this TV. The motion and picture quality is superior. Sports, TV shows, and movies will look phenomenal on this TV. If you're looking for the best feature set - mainly HDMI 2.1. Grab the Sony A8H.

Man, I have the 65" sony 930e I bought almost 2 years ago and love it. But wishing I knew about hdmi 2.1 prior to buying it. Specially since I have a Xbox series x. Don't need this TV but I want it lol

I mean you can still game on this tv right? Nothing wrong with connecting a ps4 pro to it and get HDR and 4K gaming?

Same here. Lg is for gamers this one for movie shows and sports. No hdmi 2.1. 99 percent of non gamers still never use it.

lol it's wild to me that people can say any tv is "superior" to the CX when it has been king for so long. I'm intrigued now to see an A8H set and compare myself because i already think the CX series is absolutely stunning

This is why I'm waiting for this years model, I appreciate your comment on how you find the Sony is for non-gaming watching, as that is a majority of what I'll do, which makes me more confident I'll want the Sony OLED engine, but I still want the HDMI 2.1 to future proof since I plan to get the 77" model. thanks!

Same price as Black Friday. New models should be out in may buy will be significantly more expensive. Not best tv for gamers but best for movies, shows and sports. I returned my cx as well. I know it doesn't have hdmi 2.1 but I choose movies, shows and sports over video games. IMO.

Plus lg customer service sucks. Sorry lg

I played through Ghost of Tsushima on (4K 60) on my PS5, and there were no issues whatsoever. Sorry for the confusion. I'm just concerned about burn in. If I can completely disable the HUD, I'll play on this TV. If not, I'll game on a different TV. The response time is 18ms so it feels really good. This TV doesn't have HDMI 2.1 inputs so you won't be able to do 4K 120.

This years model will cost significantly more at least in the beginning. What will you be using the hdmi 2.1 for?

This one is great. I returned x900h and bought a8h. I never play games but only watch TVs and movies. The color is unbeatable. Love it.
