The A80J is priced between the C1 and G1, if recent price leaks are accurate. Completely reasonable pricing.
Because Sony has better processing, upscaling and motion, and some people care more about that than they do about gaming features. This shouldn't be that hard to wrap your brain around. Sony and LG OLEDs are good displays with different strengths and weaknesses. LG's SoC and gaming features are better. That doesn't make them better overall TVs. Some people don't even play games, as I assume you know.
Good for you.

If CX65 falls to ~1500ish, pretty much no brainer. However, the G1 with the higher brightness "evo" panel just got glowing reviews, supposedly "punchier and more vibrant colors", new webos/remote, and if the launch price of 2700 is to believed, I can justify paying the extra ~1200ish for the newer/brighter panel tech, especially when I plan to keep for at least 4 years.
The other wildcard is the Sony A90J. Supposedly can reach 1300nits, due to the use of a new heatsink and has superior motion processing/picture quality that not even the LG can match. But no VRR outta the box, until a firmware update not slated until the winter, and of course the 65 has a price of 4k...
18Ms response time at 4K is slow. Need at least 15Ms.
LG CX is around 13Ms and Samsung Qt series around 10Ms at 4K 60fps.
120Hz VRR Samsung goes all the way to 5-6 which is INSANE.
There's NO PERFECT tv, I love the A8H motion and picture quality, but I'm going to take a picture quality hit going to Q90t just to have better gaming performance.
Sony A8H amazing tv, but not even talking about lack of HdMI 2.1, 2.0 is just to slow for my gaming needs

I bought x900h 75 inch last BF. Wife and me immediately noticed the low color quality. We don't have any TV before but using high end 4K monitors (32 and 27 inch) watching TVs and movies.
We got disappointed by x900h, even 75 is quite large.
Picked up the current 65 A8H and can immediately say it's black and white difference. It's small but satisfying our daily watching.
Interestingly, I bought a Hisense H6510 55 for my bedroom while the color is "not that bad" from my wife, even "better than the x900h Sony". This only cost me $299 from BB. The catch on this one is the laggy UI and lack of AirPlay ability.
I used to be sensitive to the specs on elec hardwares but for TV I just play videos and shows we watch everyday and let wife say which TV looks good.
PS: I never play games and have my consoles (PS4, XBox One, a PC equipped with old Nvidia 1080) boxed for years so don't care about adapters or future-proof techs.
I don't even care about hdmi 2.1, response time is too slow even for hdmi 2.0 at 18Ms.
*Currently watching Justice League "Synder Cut on the Sony A8H and the level of quality is insane. Literally the image quality is the best I've ever seen.
I don't even care about hdmi 2.1, response time is too slow even for hdmi 2.0 at 18Ms.
Notably they do pricematch online retailers like Amazon and Crutchfield who were in on the last $1998 deal someone posted a week or so ago. Maybe one of the 3 will come down in price to match.
