So you are paying 2k for a tv which doesnt have hdmi2.1 which is future ! Sony with hdmi 2.1 2021 they sell them for 3k roughly ! Then why not lg with hdmi 2.1 at 2k? And hold on to it for 4-5 years? Wouldnt cx be bangfrbuck! I bought cx but just saying
Make sure you get it professionally calibrated to get top picture quality. Out of the box Sony is superior. Just saying. Besides gaming what else are you using hdmi 2.1 for? Well cx is obsolete as well. 8k is out already so 4k is obsolete

I thought that always included the tax within the offer? So is it $1716 all in? Can you get upsie warranties with those? Assume so.

The future of what? For people who aren't gamers, why should they even care?

The A80J is priced between the C1 and G1, if recent price leaks are accurate. Completely reasonable pricing.

Because Sony has better processing, upscaling and motion, and some people care more about that than they do about gaming features. This shouldn't be that hard to wrap your brain around. Sony and LG OLEDs are good displays with different strengths and weaknesses. LG's SoC and gaming features are better. That doesn't make them better overall TVs. Some people don't even play games, as I assume you know.

Can't wait to receive the item. This is the deal I've been waiting for and paying with B&H Payboo can save you more.

Best buy won't price match it, I asked already. it's their loss.

Well 2 years ago - next gen consoles didn't come out. That's the major thing. I get your conceptual point - but this was the year those next gens came out
I think you missed his point entirely...

in regards to gaming, some might be interested to know that samsung is coming out with some tvs that have freesync premium pro, which my understanding is a first from any company. This isn't Oled however, but "neo Qled"

I cant explain enough but best of luck with your tv ! Yes i own ps5 so hdmi 2.1 is a big deal and may be it becomes common after 3 years .. new tech comes every day ! I love cx becuse i bought it frm employee portal for 1500$ tax not included! But Oled are first introduced by LG and LG is primary supplier of oled for sony ! Sony just puts their processor

The Sony 900H had terrible color? Weird because most reviews put it as having good accurate colors out of the box before calibration. They don't use quantum dot but have a very similar proprietary method they've been using for years. 75 LED or 65 OLED is something I've been having a tough time deciding between.
That's against my impression as well when got the 900h 75 at home.

I randomly picked YouTube videos (most are 1080p though) since YouTube is the main source of stream on my daily life.

Wife and I immediately noticed the "too white/bright" issue on people faces and some colors like "grass" is "too green" but like fake, the "red curtains in the stage" going not "red enough" but "dark blood red", etc.

I think maybe it's caused by the monitor we are using, U3219Q which already sets the color quality bar pretty high.

It's definitely a downgrade when comparing to U3219Q so there is no reason for us to keep the x900h given the price (1500ish I think).

While the a8h is providing significant better color quality. I put x900h and a8h side by side to make sure "Sony at this price can provide the quality comparing to U3219Q", otherwise I'd return both and buy a cheap Hisense or TCL under $500.

Luckily A8H meets the expectation and goes beyond.

Got it $1798 + no tax at Mynavyexchange last Thanksgiving. I think $1798 is the lowest ever seen.

No. B&H is a reputable company that doesn't sell used products as new. FWIW, this price isn't a new low. These were ~$1800 on Prime Day and then started hitting $1800 again in late October during the holiday shopping season. Now they're reaching this price again as the new 2021 models are coming out. It's not a shocking price.

Thanks, I use LG oled and 900F as my main sets. This would be for mancave for gaming/movies to replace a Vizio P. Only Samsung I've had is a frame but only really use it for art. No DV always bothered me.
The Sony 950 will not get VRR or 4k120 which I know is an issue now but it seems like it's coming.
Kinda tough thinking whether to splurge or go cheaper this time around.

What about the Q80T?
Remember the misconception people have on these Samsung Qleds. It does not and I repeat does not need Dolby Vision since they get insanely bright. HDR10+ is what they have and none of the Oleds have.......

Disney plus supports the format and of course regular hdr 10. I repeat you are not missing anything by not having Dolby Vision.

Now if using in a man cave and not gaming then the Sony A8H is a significantly better viewing image and tv than any of the Samsung's (I own both) ONLY reason to go with Samsung Q80t is happy medium with excellent gaming performance.
